Ok, I am a total noob when it comes to cars so i need sythe's car nerds to help me out
now for my first car I am buying a holden SS ute such as below:


and what I want is to get a back like this one:


1. Now what I want to know is, is it possible to put a back like that on the ute I am looking at?
2. What are the parts called so i can do my own research? like how would I found this out, what is this back part called etc
3. How much roughly would this cost to do?

It's certainly possible, although you might have some trouble finding one, from what I can see, you'll have to get it from the dealer, which means you'll be paying a pretty penny.

As for the name, it's called a Hard Tonneau Cover, there's 3 versions, the Slimline which will run you about $3,100. The Twin Hump style, which will be just under $3,000. And than, there's the 3 piece style, which is about $3,600, but it's not the same as the one you posted above.

I believe the one you posted is the Twin Hump Hard Tonneau Cover, which is actually the cheapest, so you're in luck. As far as installation, you should just be able to buy it and have a friend or two come over to help you out, won't need any professionals or anything.
