    Healthy Diet Sites/Plans?

    Hey guys,

To make a really long story short, I am 19. Ever since I was about 12 I have been lifting weights on and off. I am only 5'7 but have a very nice size body frame wise.

Basically what I am looking for is sites and or healthy tips/recipes to start planning a lifestyle choice as when I lift on and off what happens is I get in really good shape while not eating so well and power lifting/doing lot's of high endurance cardio.

Then once I take a break from the gym for a few months I pretty much get sloppy and I hate it because my diet is so bad. I really need to know what to buy and how to prepare it so I can be able to make this change in my life.

This way when I do all that hard work at the gym and stop for a few months all that will happen is I lose a little muscle mass that I can get back once I start back up.

I just hate the fact I have to go so hard at the gym just to make up for my lack of knowledge diet wise when I'm not going to the gym 3-5 days a week.

Not only will this benefit myself but I am a very good cook and could make meals for my family which would not only help me but help them as eating healthier can make peoples moods better, raise your stamina etc..

But yeah I said I was gonna make it short and look what happened haha sorry if you read all that but hope someone on this site can point me in the right direction!

Self discipline. We can tell you what to do and what not to do, but at the end its going to be your decision whether or not you want to do it. When you take your break, you should really try like just conditioning. No weights involved, simple stuff like running up hills, push ups, all that stuff that will keep you in shape. If you do all those, it doesn't really matter what you eat as long as you burn all that junk food that you ate, off.

    Healthy Diet Sites/Plans?

Helpful but not what I am looking for, like I said I want to make a lifestyle choice to eat healthy not just for the sake of weight but the benefits that come with it.

I still live at home (In college) and I currently have a treadmill literally in my room I am using daily; in the morning and before bed, as well as doing push-ups and sit-ups.

When I said I eat wrong I more of meant I eat what's made or what I can make quick, I am looking for sites/recipes to have a better understanding as to what I should be eating most of the time. Like I'll go buy a weeks worth of meals on Friday, and figure out what's quick what's healthy and what I can make fulfilling meals out of while still knowing I am choosing to eat better.

Like the saying goes... "You are what you eat."

I don't eat much on the side of junk but I do know I don't eat properly all the time and want to choose to eat better.

Also, I will be starting the gym again soon and want to make this change asap so once I am done with the gym I can just continue with eating properly, morn & nightly treads w/ push-ups sit-ups.

Thanks for the advice though; appreciate it.

Protein shakes are never a bad idea. I got some friends who worked out like that but didnt work much. Although i dont really recommend it its still an option out there to consider.

Self dicipline is also key to maintaining health...and abs

You should try doing an legitimate workout like p90x or insanity,
Workouts last about an hour an day and ive seen incredible results from it.
they also provide you with an soft diet plan and you can do it right inside your home

If your lifting correctly, any workout plan will work. Insanity/P90X are just exercises put into a routine. Just sayin'. :p

I agree, I have been lifting for years and imo there is no substitute to grinding it out at the gym 3-5 days a week 1-2 hours per session.

I don't doubt p90x and other routines work well but weights are just more my style. Plus going to a gym you get to meet other people and get advice, make friendships etc.

I am defiantly liking the forums KMJT showed me though..

Also, I should be starting some MMA training soon with one of my mother's friends she recently got back into contact with. If I do start training with him, I will be posting up kind of a progress log.
