Community Competitions

Hey all,

After the recent successes of the Pool and Chess tournaments, it would seem a bad idea not to run any more. They have served as good events for the participants from what I can see, better uniting us users together as a community. I've made this thread to ask you, the users, what competitions you'd like to see ran in future. I think most of you would agree with me in saying that these are good for strengthening the community and just a bit of fun in general, so I would like to see this ongoing and happening more frequently. Myself and some other users are quite prepared to run more tournaments and competitions, but we would like some suggestions as to what competitions you would like to participate in. This is just to get a general idea of what people would like to do so we can get as much involvement as possible. Feel free to suggest a tournament/competition and I'll see what I can do

I'll leave this thread open for about a week so you guys can suggest or discuss whatever it may be, hopefully some time after that you can expect to see some action... Suggest away!

 

Hm, so far, only Haxball comes to mind. Maybe even a LoL one?

Either that, or like something that you video irl, and the best one wins.

 

Stuff everyone can join in. Saw a lot of people interested in poker.

 

Maybe a Counter-strike tournament,

or some other FPS tournament

 

I suggest having something irl, like a costume competition or something. I think choosing a game like counter strike or even LoL would segregate the playerbase to much. A picture contest or something like that can be participated in by everyone.

 

Haxball, however it highly relys on host. And if there like a host like Johnk, it will still matter, because it will still be like whos closest to him. Another that I could think of would be something else over Omgpop. Maybe Baloono? Or fourplay.

 

-IRL competitions (like bonesaw pk's)

-Haxball
-Runescape competitions (I.e. Hide and seek, etc)
-Xbox/PS3
-League of Legends/HON

 

I agree with this, mostly all people on this site have a RuneScape account, so anyone can join.

 

I like the poker idea alot.

 

Hide and seek or omgpop sounds okay, but then we'll have people who will cheat and give other people their location/answer =|
I agree with the IRL competition. Sounds like fun.

 

I think a RS clan wars, you choose your team, whether it be big or small and enter a competition for a prize each clan member must give, half should be donated to Sythe, half to the winner.

 

Black ops competition on xbox 360

 

Myself, and probably a bunch of other members dont have a xbox, it would be fun if anyone could join.

If someone trusted organizes this, like a moderator, hide n seek should not be a problem.

 

Poker, black ops, scavenger hunt via runescape? (If that'd be possible non cheating) (Could have groups running around getting nontradable/sellable items)

Mmmmm.. I kind of like the irl video thing, yet I don't have a video camera, nore do I possess the ability of "special effects" so I'd definitely suck. and not even be able to participate.

Mmmmm... I like the clanwars idea. Maybe we could have 2 team captains, picking off players, or maybe everyone getting a random number, (but make it where teams are evened out)

What about a .. Stealings creation battle? Love that minigame. The team who wins fight against eachother, and then whoever wins that match fights against the remainder. So you have 30 vs 30 (random amount) The 30 that wins, goes 15 vs 15.. then 7 1/2 vs 7 1/2 <-- Not sure how that'd work Maybe cut someone in half, ^_^

Or maybe a group penguin hunt. Everyone gets in groups, and whoever finishes the penguins wins.

Maybe I'm thinking too much runescape =P

No haxball because if you play someone like Art/Add my msn, even though he is banned, others can have similar connection problems.

EDIT: Checkers on OMGpop is another good idea.
