Tank Ranger PK strategy discussion & locations

sounds like a plan. thats too bad. jagex should have some sort of immunity or temporary skill boost after you kill someone. could lower pj effectiveness...or better loot for the depper kill to get people away from edge....as of now they should just have an arena with levels 1-10 differentials you can fight. the rest of the wildy i feel is being soooo underutilized.. bumma

 

Definitely need veng

 

edgeville is still pretty much the best place to pk

 

step 1, dont be a tank

40 defence rangers with 94 range / mage dominate at their combat level
(in high risk) with 44 pray.

hc, darkbow, xbow, rune cbow > dragon dagger, dscim

 

I got a maxed Tank with 60 attack/strength, 75 defence , 99 Range/Magic/Hp, 77 pray with vigour and rigour (vigour if you want to tankbrid, not necessary)

If you're around 95 Cmb, use a Magic Shortbow as primary weapon, also use spec. After spec switch to Rune crossbow/ccbow. If you get used to it, you can combo extremely good with that (veng helps alot). This is my fav. pking style in edge

Handcannon fails in combat, if I pk with handcannon, I always use the specs at the beginning of a fight (be venged before fight -> hc spec -> veng again)
I get alot of kills doing this method because you drop most of the enemies in under 5 seconds if you get used to it and hc spec doesn't fail.

dark bow fails without void.

But there is really no guide ,try to get used to tank pking, I got 2200 kills / 278 deaths on my wilderness hat

 

If you like the edge ambient you should max def and stick to range tank with whatever gear you feel confortable in.

 

^This, btw 99range tanker's without strength are pretty pointless and boring now...everyone hybrid's and melle is overpowered. Range is no longer overpowered as it once was...

 

you could allways use the rune full helm d hide body rune legs setup and just use hand cannon cuz it has one bitch of a spec!

 

im workin for hc. but i think range tanks are still effective. half the people in the wild are afraid to even fight a range tank... also is range staking evevn possible anymore. thats how i made my bank back in the day

 

ccb? is that anygood? use it as a primary or KO weapon?

 

i got a handcannon. spec is worthless for pkin. but i was usin mage bow spec to hc to KO. worked a lil bit.

Not as relevant as they used to be...

More common in the 85-100 combat range than anything else.

Veng + range will get you somewhere, no need to range and mage since boalls or whatever they're called can be used as a snare.

There really isn't any new range armor, just a few new weps. You're better off looking at a list of range weps to get a good idea of what you should use.

I usually do msb + rune arrows/sara/guthix/zammy arrows --> msb + d bolts e.

Boalls to snare if someone runs away.

Veng

Armor is pretty standard.

torags helm (dont be afraid its only like 80k)
Dragonfire Shield/CCB if you have
Blackdragon Body and Chaps
Blackdragon Vambs/B gloves if you have
Snakeskin boots, recoils
15 Dragon bolts (e)
