Mother charged with abuse for punishing 7-year old

An Alaskan mom is charged with child abuse after punishing her 7-year old adopted son by putting hot sauce in his mouth and forcing him to take a cold shower. But get this: she did it so she could get onto the Dr. Phil show!

Thoughts? When I first saw this video on the news I felt sick. I would never punish my child for publicity let alone punish him by causing pain...

 

that kid is a bitch. when i was 7, my family was so poor the only shower i could take was cold. and hotsause will make you man up, but for publicity thats kinda selfish/douchy

Hot sauce is good, I wouldn't mind it. Like when I was a little kid my mom had this wooden paddle she would spank me with, but it didn't hurt 1 bit but I pretended to cry so that she wouldn't punish me with something that really hurt.

 

Truly unbelievable. What kind of psycho biotch does something like this to her kid.

 

I saw this on TV before. I believe the cold shower was pretty cruel as their are plenty of other ways to punish a child. Hot sauce actually wouldn't be too bad seeing I love spicy/hot stuff since I was a kid. If she did it for publicity she is just another attention whore.

I remember back than at least at my friends school. If you did get into trouble you would get sent to the principals office and get whacked with this huge paddle (use to row your boat with). My school never did that but look how far we have gotten with punishment.

 

I wouldn't consider a cold shower and hot sauce as really bad...
It's not the greatest way to punish a child, but it's not the worst.
But considering they live in Alaska, a cold shower might be overdoing it.

 

Horrible... Take her parental might, she's a bad parent.

 

To be honest hot sauce in the mouth isn't that bad. Its not like he swallowed it, and i'd rather hot sauce over eating a bar of soap any day.

 

I don't think hot sauce or a cold shower is cause for concern, but the fact that she did it to get onto the Dr. Phil show is what gets me...

 

This lady was that desperate to get on Dr. Phil. I guess people think otherwise, based on the polls from the second part. I wouldn't mind the hotsauce too much, but I couldn't stand taking cold showers.

 

man ppl exaggerate cmon there are people in countries that never have the privilege of a warm shower and the hotsause least theres something to eat

 

The fact that she did it to get publicity sickens me.
Tbh when i was kid a kid cold showers were always expected because i lived in a poor neighborhood in hollywood (expecting dem hurricanes so ther goes my power) so im used to it

 

I was punished with tickles... i'm still in pain.

Honestly this is a fucking exaggeration......i really feel sorry for people that are like "AMG THAT SO BRUTAL" compared to what other parents do to they're kids this is nothing. honestly.
