Runescape Is Dying?

I want to know if runescape is going to end in the next year or two...
I want to max out my stats in runescape, but I don't want jagex to stop caring about runescape and move onto their other game...
How long do you think runescape will go on for, and is there time for me to max out my stats?

 

It's obvious that RS is dying. Like RSC died when RS2 came out, when Jagex's new game in a few months is released they will stop development on RS2. It's rather obvious too be honest, they're milking all the money they can out of RS atm (15% off mems, Katana, Refer a Friend)

 

The game will last for another 5 years.

It still has a great number of players that are on at the same time, and log in everyday, so there is no reason why Jagex will pull the plug anytime soon.

 

So even though jagex will stop development, runescape will keep on going?
But wont that mean that EVERYONE would bot and not get banned?

 

People have been saying this for years and its still up and has thousands of active players.

I won't be surprised if it lasted another decade.

 

A lot of people don't even care about maxing stats anymore. It's more about how much GP you have now. Hopefully Runescape will just come up with better items and more to do, if that's possible.

 

I don't see it dieing anytime soon and a lot of online companies offer discounts during certain periods jagex finally just decided to hop on the wagon and offer it as well. With 200k people online can't see it dieing anytime soon. During free trade restrictions there were around 100k people on at peak times.

 

i kinda want jagex to sell runescape.. cause they arent really making it better...

 

It may keep going it may not, i'll be here till the servers come down tho

 

they won't sell it since funorb (their other source of income) is shit. Maybe they will sell it once Stellar dawn is released but even in stellar dawn Jagex hardly has a share in it so I'm pretty sure they will hold runescape.

Whatever happens to RS I'll still be hanging out on Sythe for the time being. I don't think it will die just yet but yeah it has lots it's reputation over the years. Sooner or later it will be history.

 

you know that 30-40% of thief income comes from accounts that are being botted for gold.

OP, answer is no, Jagex are not going to stop updating Runescape, therefore Runescape still lives.

 

In my opinion, Runescape won't be closed until no one ever plays anymore. They are making so much money from it and why not keep making what they are now? But even more with future updates they will be releasing. Runescape will last another decade an a half or so.

 

It obviously won't last forever, so it technically still is dying.

A large portion of the player base is botters, and most people play the game now days for pking, luring, dicing and dueling.

 

Theyre making bank off runescape, why would they stop?

 

They may stop, just not for atleast 5 years. To many people play atm, and it is slowly dieing out though, I mean people quit but new people join.

 

RS is the main focus of Jagex at the moment, and as of last year it was going to be their main focus for the next 5 years...That means it should be their main focus for the next 4 years.

RS is still very successful/profitable, they aren't going to dump it in the next few years. Even after it stops being their "main focus", it won't be like they ignore it completely.

 

Give Jagex the right motive to make an end to the problems, and it won't die.
