    Addictions/Withdrawl?

Has anyone here on Sythe been addicted to any substance and/or gone through withdrawal of said substance?

If so, what type of substance? (opiates, nicotine, etc.)

I, personally, have gone through mild cannabis withdrawal. (lol I know, NOTHING compared to basically everything else :p) It sucked to stop smoking like 6 months everyday then stop. Felt slightly depressed the following days, but not much after that.

    Addictions/Withdrawl?

    I here ya, man.
I've smoked bud for 4 years and I ge upset when I go for a while without.
Not because I need it, just because it's fun getting stoned :p

And, if you can go 10 days without a cig, your body treats it as a change and wont crave it anymore.

    Addictions/Withdrawl?

Cannabis is a non-physically addictive substance therefore unable to make you go through withdrawal. It's not needed to keep your body functioning once it's been introduced.
It's purely mentally addictive, which means you might have thought you were having some sort of withdrawal, but it was all in your head.

The hardest withdrawals I've ever experience came from mountain dew.
There's several physically addictive substances in mountain dew such as caffeine and sugar. (yes sugar, it's the worst of them all)
After going from drinking a case of mountain dew in like 4 days time to drinking nothing but water for a few weeks, I felt like a diabetic with low blood-sugar. It's an exhausting-shaking feeling like you just can't do anything.
It sucks real bad man... but eventually your body learns to deal without the substance and you snap back to normal.

When I read the first sentence, this is exactly what I thought. Cannibis isn't an addictive what-so-ever.

I know, I never said or implied it was.
Its the same with anything, really.
If you do it long enough, itll become a habbit, break the habbit and you'll feel alittle empty for a while. Nothing more.

Yeah like I said I was just mildly depressed for not having weed after daily usage for 6 months :p Sure it was mentally but it still sucked.

    Addictions/Withdrawl?

I've had a problem with opiates(mostly heroin) and benzos for almost 7 years now. It's definitely not nearly as bad now as it used to be, but it's still something that I struggle with daily. I've also been smoking weed and cigarettes for the same amount of time. Of course I'm not phsyically addicted to weed and can easily go without it, but I'm still pretty dependent on it.

I disagree in the fact cannabis is addictive.. your body may not need it too function but thousands of people are addicted to cannabis just like tabacco

but you didn't understand what I said.
They're not physically dependent on it, they just like it a whole lot. Which means they can stop it at anytime with no actual negative effects to their body, only their mind will suffer because they don't want to stop.
Whereas if you take someone addicted to nicotine and just cut them off, they will have serious physical problems while their body tries to function without it for a while.

    Addictions/Withdrawl?

You're right. I smoke everyday pretty much all the time, but I can easily quit at anytime. I take a week break every few months to get my tolerance down and I never experience any physical withdrawals. I have bad headaches and nausea a lot and weed is pretty much the only that helps, so those are the only physical symptoms that I face when I'm not smoking.

Yeah it's been on and off for 7 years now. It was really out of control 2 years ago when I was dealing and had the money to do it. I still do them everyday, but I'm not taking nearly enough to be strongly addicted to them and can go without them if needed without experiencing any severe withdrawals. Honestly I think opiate and benzo withdrawals are the worst there is. I couldn't even tell you which is worse, they are both just as bad.

    Addictions/Withdrawl?

For a few years I was addicted to several prescription painkillers. I managed to get clean on my own by tapering off of them and smoking Cannabis. I learned the hard way that you CANNOT just go cold turkey with opiates.

Me personally P15s and O's mostly but I got over it with another medication that tricks your brain to come off the addiction. And atm Nicotine patches are my best friend.

    Addictions/Withdrawl?

Agreed as well. Basically if I want to get a lil bit high off Cannabis, I can. Then afterwords if I wanted to I don't think about getting high and can forgot about it as long as I want.

Cigarrettes on the other end....holy shit they are very addicting man. I first started smoking at 12 years old and ever since then it just gradually increased. I actually only wanted to see what it was like because I was stressed at that time and surely enough its addicting as what everyone says. At least I understand why people can't quit. It's possible though. It took me 1 year to finally knock some sense into telling myself I don't need this.

Edit: Just want to point out that even if I havent smoked for 3 years I still have the urge to when I am stressed (just today this moment happened) :(
Sucks that cannabis is hard to get around here if you are not in high school anymore.

    Addictions/Withdrawl?

Nothing but alcohol which is controversially the worst addiction among the "non-hardcore" drugs. I can testify that withdrawls can be a BITCH, not to mention potentially deadly to extreme alcoholics
