12 Year Old Girl Commits Suicide to Donate Organs to Her Sick Family

I have very mixed feelings about this.

 

It's a shame she killed herself as she was obviously a very nice person, she just wasn't really old enough to see how she was effecting her family.

 

What a very kind and considerate person. But, I'm still really sad that we lost someone as sweet as her. :'(

I'm gonna agree with you... I don't know how to react to this. Although her intentions were genuine and selfless, it's a pretty dark decision to have made... Her love for her family must have been extremely powerful for her to have had it in her to do something like that. However, I'm certain they could have figured out a better alternative...

 

Wow. I am completely shocked and amazed by this... I'm at a loss for words.

 

As selfless and "awww, she's a hero!" it seems, I think bad parenting is a factor here.

 

As always, someone blames the parenting. Let's hear why it's their fault this time .

 

Such an altruistic act by her. This is quite honestly one of the most tragic things I've read, amplified by the fact that her wishes were never granted, the organs never made it to her parents.

 

It's unfortunate to see that young girl die, but I'm glad the father and brother are okay. Mixed feelings indeed.

 

Someone normally blames parenting because it is the most defining factor in a child's choices and how they turn out as a person. At least at an early age. If you want a deeper explanation, look into psychology.

People blame parenting for a reason, it's usually at fault.

In order for this to be valid, these particular parents must have deviated from standard parenting techniques, and even extreme parenting techniques. They must have had their own unique technique as cases like these are one offs. If the parents did not differ from standard parenting techniques, then this argument is flawed as not all children act so altruistically.

In order to blame the parents, you must accept that they have their own unique parenting style which differs from all previous parenting styles enough to cause such an altruistic act. OR, you can only accept that this is a tragedy unless it was parenting related, in which case presumably these parents acted in concordance with modern parenting techniques, we would see all kids committing suicide for family troubles.

 

Takes somebody to stand up like this to really make a difference. Maybe things that end of the world aren't far from changing. RIP.

 

I'm not quite sure how to react, now we've lost 1 of the very few genuinely kind people in the world. That's saddening RIP.

 

Huh? I thought the actual surgery was the expensive part of these types of operations. She probably didn't help too much if I'm correct.
