Western Union

I just made WU account. How does it work..
- if someone sends, how do I know if I or them paid fees
- Can i leave the cash in my account? Or does it go straight to my bank
- Chargeback issues

1. You don't know who paid the fees until you're going down the road to physically pick-up the money. You'll see if they paid the fees based on how much you were expecting to receive. Eg, If you were expecting $500, and you only received $450, it's more then likely the other person didn't pay the fees.

2. You can to some extent. You don't have a WU account (with a balance) as such, but you can delay the time in which you pick-up the money. You don't need to get it right away.

3. While most people believe there is no such things as chargebacks when it comes to WU, there are, although they're very, very slim. The only way you can be chargedbacked through WU is if the person is using a stolen credit card. Payments can also be reversed after they've been sent, so it's advised to pick-up the money asap.

It is like a bank transaction without using the online bank account. However, you can send the money online too.

It is not like Paypal. You can not store the money online, change your balance into other currency and so on.

Hm, okay sounds good. In your opinion, whats better? WU or Moneybookers?

 

I personally like Moneybookers because of the low fees. WU has really high fees which keep me from using it. It also is pretty hard for chargebacks to occur so overall its a good service. Only problem not everyone uses it on here only a few I have seen. More people use WU.

 

Both are good. Via MoneyBookers you can make instant transactions without going out from home (via WU possible too). And it is a bit easier via MoneyBookers. But if you get the cash via Western Union, you get the cash right to your hands. But via MoneyBookers it is very easy to withdraw the money.

Both are good, just MoneyBookers are not available to USA members. MoneyBookers soon will change their name to Skrill, so maybe then they will let USA members to use their system fully.
