Truth about jagex.

Every server I've seen now are taking donations there are usually on the bigger servers around 100 to 500 people online and playing every day.

about 50% or maybe a little less donate for items, gold, or just (membership) benefits on the private server.

so some of these kids could be bringing 1k to 3k a month depending on if they can keep the people donating and making new updates for the server to keep it interesting.

now think about it this way..

if you made a runescape script that was one of the best of its kind and you are selling a million a year for 20$ a piece.
Would you want somebody ripping your script then selling it for cheaper or maybe putting in a few more lines saying theres is better and making money off of your hardwork????

they should be taking these guys down but knowingly dont because they know they keep the interest of the player when they can go in a private server max out in a week or two get all the gold and items they want by spawning the items or actually killing monsters and getting rare drops.

IT KEEPS THEM INTERESTED IN THEIR GAME =)

Despite what they say, they are not doing all that they can to stop botters. I mean, think about it. It's their game. With all of the reports people send in, there's no way so many of us would still be unbanned.

 

I understand you only joined this month but I'm pretty sure 99% of runescape have already discovered they are money hungry.

And what about the private servers? Bs.. They wouldnt go back to a game because a private server shows what it USED to be. If they liked what it USED to be they play the private server.

Jagex cannot stop all the botters as there is several clients, and ways to bot.

Jagex cannot shut down the private servers, you reached stupid line to think that. 90% of private servers are hosted from someones computer. No way to stop that, to find it on that persons computer would be illegal and end up in Jagex being sued.

Therefore, nothing that they can do.

 

if i was jagex i would just say fuck it and milk all the cash out of the game i could money is better than pixels.

 

What? I don't think he meant literally click the x button on their server, I think he means generally get them shut down, like, sueing for copyright, warning them to take it down or they get sued, etc...
