    put yourself in jagex's shoe's?

    Hello sythe users.

its obvious that jagex can easily easily stop all bots but they C H O O S E not to, put yourself in jagex shoe's. if jagex where to remove bots, thousands of players will stop with there accounts and upgrading it, so jagex will lose thousands of pounds..

    Rich and hated?
    poor and loved?

    which one would you pick??

They will not, more people will start playing again if bots will be gone.
Moreover, with bots they are just destroying their game.

they will make less money without the bots..

    hard fact.
what if jagex removes all bots and no one comes back, jagex will just put back botting? no they cant do that.

tbh i think jagex are doing the right thing to keep runescape alive, you cant see it at first.

Thats a hard one lol, Half of jagexs profit is pretty much caused from bots. Tbh if i owned the company i would keep doing whatever makes me the most money. If the real runescape fans wanted to play they would still play. The bots might annoy them but no matter what theyll still be there.

everybody knows they keep the bots for the money and if you think they would be poor you are crazy, jagex has made millions off rs and even if they got rid of bots they would still be making bank...

they will make more money without bots, because the old players will come back.. lots of retirees will come back into the game.. more people would want to join the game... not finish the tutorial only to be spammed by a gold selling website..

but this is my theory of the whole thing...

i believe that this period in time is history making.. in a couple years time they will completely change the runescape system.. hopefully making it a downloadable client thus making it unbottable due to it not being written in java.. id rather buy gold from chinese gold farmers like wow than little 9 year old UK kids that just bot while their at school..

if they took rs back to the days of 06/07 many would come back but the reason i and others left is because we don't like the new bullshit like gs, chatic, claws, korasi and all the other crap they have added

RuneScape is more or less Singleplayer now, it's just me on there now. I reckon Jagex are making an effort to stop the bots, however they're only doing enough so they can get away with it and not get flamed. If they REALLY REALLY wanted to stop bots then they could if they worked at it. However looking at how much money it's making them, they're probably just gonna sit on their ass for the time being. It's only a matter of time before they start selling their own RSGP, and somehow I think that will be much more safer and secure than Sythe. Although if Jagex took the piss with the prices I doubt many would use their service.

They could? Bots are too advanced, the only real chance they'd have is banning every account that login's with the same ip. But if those users use a satellite connection they would be screwed.

Otherwise there is no "Real" way to stop all the bots, never will be.

To be honest I'm not sure how many people have actually quit solely because of the bots, and, thus, how many people will come back - I wouldn't think that there would be too many; so, I see no reason why Jagex would stop the bots (if they can at all is a completely different question).

I don't think that they can stop the bots even if they banned everyone they found. So in their shoes I would definitely choose to not ban them and make a larger profit. With two other MMO's in the works (Stellar Dawn and that stupid Transformers game) I don't think they can afford to lose the money they make from botters.

I would kill all f2pbots and clean up f2p.

P2p brings in money, but the ones in f2p don't. T

I don't know why they don't just go after gold farming websites in general. When threatened, wouldn't a lot of them crumble? I mean, Sythe doesn't have much to worry about. But if you sent an email to one of those gold farmers, who a lot of the time don't know much about law, I can guarantee some would fold.

I've heard of IP bans, and they can do that for anything else, including private servers. So why can't they just start IP and ISP banning the advertisers?

They're a company. They're doing what they can as their job as a company to make money. No matter what horrible marketing ploy they come up, there's still going to be people accepting their offers, and there's still going to be profits made. If Jagex wanted to, they could just say, "We can't stop botters, so fuck you guys." A lot of people would quit, but then a good portion of legit players would also learn to bot/join the rest of the botting community. I respect their business ethics.
