So Sythe moderators have to connect to facebook? What if they didn't want to, as they like to keep their Sythe life away from Real life? That's a major flaw.

They don't have to connect it, I was giving an example from another website. Maybe just give their Facebook URL to the admins. As well as confirm their real address, phone number, etc.

I don't think there would be a need to have to confirm facebook accounts, but address, phone number, and names should be asked for. In no way would just confirming these details would moderators' sythe life and real life combine. I support #1.

You should never have to put personal info on the internet.

    No support.

    Thanks for the support.

What is it about people that makes them so ignorant to believe that the internet is a private place? All of your personal information is probably up there somewhere, it only takes a bit of digging. There is no reason not to give your personal information to the administrators.

This in and of itself is kind of scary... I mean... people can do their research and find shit out pretty quickly, but seriously...

And if you're a moderator there should be no problem trusting (the other moderators)... Not to mention just by visiting this site you are giving your IP away (which in essence is connected to where you live)...

I mean in reality, no matter what you do - if someone wants to find you they will. It is the same exact thing as hacking... If someone REALLY wants to hack into your accounts/files/etc. they will, no matter what you do, say, or think.

    Basically this:

    http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1179116

    No.

That's simply unethical if they were to release personal information to the traded party.

I'm sure there's another solution to that problem though.

    No.

Too many biased opinions may potentially occur.

    Not entirely true.

A trusted staff member with over 900 vouches has apparently scammed.

The chances of that were thought to be quite slim.

But I guess it's now been 'proven' that even someone with majorly less vouches then they had were a less chance of a scammer.

    Therefore your point is invalid.

    Already been suggested.

As I've stated in a separate thread, there would not be a downside.

A community poll on an OMM applicants vote would simply give an insight for the current staff/OMM team to see who the community thinks in their mind would be considered trusted enough to hold such a high rank.

However the staff poll will always hold power over the community poll.

You have my full support, except for the last point. Often the OMM's are the people who have substantial experience in the market (excluding Viou and Punker and such). In this way, point 5 kind of contradicts point 6.

    Exactly. Thanks for the support.

The information would not be released unless the person scammed. There is no reason not to give it unless you have intentions to scam.

    Thank you for the support.
