So I recently bought a luring guide from revolver.
(I have to say it's pretty clever).

Anyways I just couldn't do it.
I just kept feeling bad for my victims.
It's like scamming. Your taking things from people that shouldn't be yours.
I know this isn't the "official" definition, but it's pretty much what happens when scamming occurs.

For those who have lured, how do you cope with this?

Free stuff basically. It's their fault for not being safe

Morally I don't think they are any different, I just think one is more in line with Runescapes rules then the other.

Exactly; they fell to the lure because of greed. They wanted more, and they lost it all. What sort of potential loot did you have?

Edit: but on the other hand, if you feel bad about luring them, then luring isn't for you. And you shouldn't make luring a full-time RS goal. If you even managed to lure 100M that'll be great for you, so just leave it at that.

Why would you buy a guide on luring when you're putting it on the same level as scamming..

Luring isn't scamming, it's just testing players ability to be safe.. Part of the game, part of life.. Scamming on the other hand is different.

Yea! Luring is totally acceptable and there is nothing wrong with it at all! All luring is is taking peoples "FREE STUFF" which they totally did not want at all!

    -.- Do I even need the /sarcasm?

To even think that tricking others into losing valuable items is fine is just disgusting. I know luring, scamming has been around forever but I am so disappointed that some Sythe members think it's alright. I place lurers on the same level of the scum that robbed the child in the London riots.

So disappointed...so..so..disappointed in you guys. And for me to even think for a second there was a bit of honor left anywhere.

Wait how do victims of luring fall into greed?
They don't know they're being lured and because of that they have their items stripped away from them.

you can say that scamming is making people be 'safe' by checking trade screens. you can say that hacking people with keyloggers is just teaching people to be careful what they download. scammers and lurers are the same thing, they just dont want to admit it

Why would you buy a lure guide if you can't take something from someone that they earned lol

Revolver said that it worked both F2P and P2P and it didn't involve killing.
I was curious on how that was possible, so I bought it.

if it doesnt involve killing them in the wild, then i think its scamming unless you have another monster kill them ?

Honestly, if you're stupid enough to get lured for valuable items, they're better off in the hands of the obviously smarter lurer.

No morals in Runescape, its a video game. I shouldn't feel bad when I team kill my 10 year old team mate in Call Of Duty and I don't feel bad when I lure someone in Runescape. I'm not physically harming them and if they get emotionally harmed then they are too attatched to the game.

honestly I classify luring as not scamming as such, but more taking advantage of other peoples greed. All lures involve convincing the target of some kind of reward, whether it be a 100m cash stack (10k) sitting in the middle of the wild, or whether it be a free set of D claws from a noob low level in clan wars (who obviously isnt low cb as he is a 1 def, 94 magic pure...) People are so desperate to get their hands on these get-rich-quick ideas that they are willing to put themselves at risk in order to obtain them.

    luringftw.

They will eventually learn one way or another and smarten up. What better time than now. Better than they get lured with 1m now rather than 100m later on.

Who lures for only 1m anyways? :p

You are too emotionally attached to the game.

Luring is basically a very clever scam, depending on which method you use of course.
