OGV applications is a JOKE!

Some negative feedback.

I feel that the way OGVs are picked is utter nonsense. You guys picked the OGVs pretty much because they were known by staff and quite popular on Sythe. You tell me one person who wrote a better application then me and ill remove my comments. I spent ages on my application and was denied. The people who were picked, well, they were picked because they were familiar within the Sythe community, which I feel is bullshit. Who cares, the applications they wrote were no where near as good as quite a few applicants, you chose them because of their popularity which is bullshit because it won't make them good OGVs. Some of the selected OGVs or all of them probably never looked at the section before hand.

Utter bullshit.

OGV applications means shit all, popularity means your chosen.

Tmoe was the only one who deserved it, sorry to the new OGVs but I don't care what you think of me, I don't think you deserved it.

This is my first rant, but, I feel its called for.

 

When you apply for a job as a teenager, you may or may not submit a resume. This resume will entail your credentials. You can ramble on about yourself, or you can say here are the qualifications I have, and here is how I can help your company (in this case sythe) progress forward.

For future reference, don't write too much in the 'I' perspective, no one cares about you, they care about themselves.


I read over your application. It's obvious you put in a lot of effort into it. Unfortunately, you may of lacked some credentials that Karl was looking for. Generally, popularity on Sythe correlates with trustworthiness. This is a cardinal characteristic any person with a position on Sythe must have.

 

Alright, let me tell you a couple of things.
1). Popularity certainly matters, but that's only logical. If no one knows you, they can't decide if you have the skills and properties to be an OGV.
2). All applications were EXACTLY the same (PM me if you wanna know something, been playing RS for X (4+) years, very active on Sythe blah blah blah). That's why Karl, and anyone involved in the process, will go back to statement 1; your popularity.

 

Well the qualifications they submitted wasn't exactly great either.

 

Are you kidding me, the application process was the same but not the applications themselves.

 

If no one knows you, they can't decide if you have the skills...

Are you kidding me? That's what the application is for.


P.S i would rather be hated on Sythe and voice my thoughts the just sit back and bottle my frustration, so, feel free to say what you like about me.

 

This is the reality. You are more likely to place trust in someone you know personally than in someone you don't. I understand you're upset about it, but that's no reason to just give up, rant or whine. The ones who got accepted, as far as I can see, have an earlier join date, which shows dedication, tons of vouches totaling thousands of dollars, etc etc, which is exactly why they were picked. They've proven themselves.

And don't worry. I don't hate someone just for being honest.

 

The intangible aura of reputation one has is unseen, yet, the most important qualification you can have.

The area your application failed in was its inability to be concise. You rambled on about things needlessly. I really don't think people on Sythe care about your voluntary work when it comes to verifying guides. Short, sharp, and simple and aesthetically pleasing applications will always trump long, essay-like and complex applications for this purpose. Jump in Karl's shoes, he would much rather see bullet points as opposed to a sentence a quality.

Well, I can write in my application that I'm on 20 hrs a day, but if I'm only here for a day, that won't get me OGV, right?

I don't hate you or something, but you might want to think about what you're actually saying before you post. This is the typical "I didn't get what I want so now I'm reeeaaally angry" post.

I have no doubt all who were selected COULD do a geeat job, but, most of you aren't even active in the guides section.

Also, what's the point in applications? Why not just post with the amount of vouches? That way people won't waste their time posting an application when they know more trusted who are popular will get the job.

Your not listening are you mate? I know everyone wrote the same thing but what has that gotbto do with anything? I'm talking about the amount they wrote and what they wrote about.
just because the application form is the same, doesn't mean people Eritrea the exact same thing.

We will not entertain a pissing contest over the new OGV selections, just as we don't tolerate it for new staff selections. The most known and trusted people get picked, only makes logical sense.
