Is this section pointless?

It seems like people just stubbornly argue with people about their opinions/facts they have learned. Most of these arguments go no where as no one wants to accept they are wrong? Correct?

The section is not for debating until someone admits that they're wrong. This section is just meant for intelligent debate. Most of the arguments are actually very fun to read.

No, this section is not pointless.

 

This is a serious question, I don't "dislike it" so im not going to ask to get it removed, I just want to know how people feel about debating.

 

I thought a debate was a more formal aruguement, which both sides state their facts and opinions

But yes, I agree No one will admit they're wrong if its their opinion, there would need to be a third party to decide a "winner"

You don't have to convince someone they're wrong to have an interesting discussion. And even if you don't agree with everything that is said, you can see a different perspective on some things.

It's pointless in the sense that it will never accomplish anything material, but not in the sense of discussing and developing different ideas, which is its purpose.
