Paying by Cash Thru Mail Safe?

I have never used this payment method before, so I'm both interested in the perks and downs of this method. Please don't say, "Don't use this method, it's bad and unreliable" or something like that, because I'm looking for information, not opinions.

I would want to use an OMM. I would also use delivery confirmation or some way to make sure it has been received. How reliable is it? If seller claims he never receives it, will OMM still give me the goods if I had delivery confirmation?

 

Sigh...just use a trusted seller like viou or simple merchant bought from both with mail no problems.

 

Money orders are more safe, although most of my mail purchases are with straight cash lol

 

If your going to use mail then only trade with someone trusted.

There is no way you can track if the seller received the cash and then you might get scammed.

I may be interested in using money orders than cash, but is there any real advantage into using money orders?

 

Cash via mail is safe, Put a note inside the envelope to cover anyone seeing the money also you can have the other seller post it and they will provide you with a tracking number. That tracking number can be used on what ever shipping company you used to see where it is. So there is no possible way for other trader to say he sent if he didn't and no way for your to say you didn't get if you did.
