    Analyze the dream above you

Post any dreams or nightmares you've had that you want to share. Then try to analyze the poster's dream above you, tell them what you think it means.

Here's a recurring one of mine for as long as I can remember that I had again last night.: I'm in a pure white marble grand foyer. There's columns everywhere and two curving staircases. Doors line the walls, but no matter which one I choose, I end up in a hall that goes on forever with black and white diagonal stripes running down all four surfaces of the hallway. I start running down there because something's chasing me, but it feels like I'm running through mud and not getting anywhere. Right before whatever it is gets close enough for me to see what it is, I'm suddenly back at the grand foyer. The cycle repeats exactly 12 times before I wake up

    My analysis:
The grand foyer represents your life and your general situation - it's fairly good and most people find it impressive and are jealous. You feel that you want to progress and change it (maybe you're bored of where you are in life?) but you don't have the capacity to do so. You struggle to run properly because what is at the end of the apparently endless hall seems unattainable by you even though you want it badly, and you end up back where you started because of it. Not sure about the 12 repetitions bit, maybe it's just something to do with all the scientific stuff that relates to sleep?

    My dream:
I go to a birthday party as a young child and everyone is playing out in the garden having a great time. I'm playing on my own and after a while, everything suddenly goes black and white and everyone else goes inside. I don't realise initially and keep on playing. I try to go inside the house when I notice but I am stopped by hundreds of cats biting and scratching me. I manage to get back into the house but I can't speak or attract anyones attention. The other kids are playing pass the parcel and even when I'm standing in the middle of the circle no one does anything to help me. I eventually wake up. It's a recurring dream, I get it pretty frequently.

@MohtasaUnique, The staircases represent the ultimate decision (life or death, heaven or hell). The doors represent the infinite number of choices you have in life, but most of them lead to the same place in life. The door you pick will decide your life (career, family, etc). From your perspective no matter which door you pick they all seem dull. As you run through a door, you are either being chased by something, or running away from something (both may be true). The fact that this repeats multiple times, and the fact that this dream is reoccurring, suggests there's something in your life that is repeating (for example, work 5 days a week, 2 days off; repeat; you're not getting anywhere in life). But I want to come back to the two staircases because I think they are very significant. From a religious point of view, I would suggest the first staircase represents your choice to be a Christian, as where the second staircase represents your choice not to believe in God. One staircase leads to heaven, the other staircase leads to hell. However by choosing neither of them, you're left with picking a door. But the problem is once you pick a door, you will be running away from something (God), or you will be chased by something (Satan) for the rest of your life (both may be true).

How's that for an interpretation? :)

Dreaming about yourself in the past suggests there's something in your past that you haven't let go of yet. While you're sitting in the circle with other kids, they don't help you. Does this mean they don't pass the parcel to you or don't help you unwrap it? Either way, it might suggest that you feel betrayed by your friends (you are always there for them, but they are never there for you?). As for the cats, I think this is a psychological thing - have you been watching horror movies or thinking about pain/death lately? I don't think it has any symbolic meaning in your dream.

    My analysis: u suX! :>

Just had another vivid dream last night. I'm in my old high school. It's not the same, everything has a gray quality and I feel very clausterphobic while walking through the halls. It has the feel of an old run-down hospital. I'm trying to find my truck to leave, but it's not in the senior parking lot where I know I put it. I walk back inside, up a few flights of stairs and I come upon some girls that I know. Two of them I know, one is a friend of there's that I've actually never seen, but she's super attractive. I offer them Starbucks lemon pound cake, and only the hot friend takes some. A window opens above them, I look out, and I see the top of my truck in the parking lot. I woke up before I could make my way back towards it.

You want to be a doctor because you feel you lack a sex life. As little sense as that makes, I'm sure your dream hasn't realized that

My dream: I try to get out of bed, Inside of my dream, But I have a horrible sense of balance and keep falling over. So while I'm trying to have a proper recurring dream, I keep falling over, And I have to crawl around, but nothing happens. Thing is, When I dream-fallover, in IRL I flip inside my bed.

Your dream means you feel that you have lack of control over your life and you can't maintain proper balance

My dream: This dream is really scary I used to get it a lot, A giant metal ball is rolling on a thin track through many twists and turns and it feels like life or death, If the ball falls, everything ends. Sometimes it will fall off the track/line slowly tipping over the edge into a bottomless pit feels like going straight down on a roller coaster and I'll wake up crying or if it doesn't fall I'll wake up freaked out

Well, it seems like I always dream what I was thinking about the night before.. but not if I was trying to think of it on purpose to have that dream. (I can't think to be rich and famous, then have a dream of that..)
    Does this mean anything?

Usually this means you're obsessing over something with or without realizing it, I've read.. Sometimes it's only remotely related to the true issue you're so worried about, sometimes it's blatantly obvious. Every once in a while, I relive my worst moments I've had while meeting new people and making myself look like an ass for a first impression. It's just something I obsess over I guess

The other night I had a dream where I fell in love with Lady Gaga and we got married and had a killer honeymoon, wink wink. I know I like lady gaga, but I didn't think i liked her that much. Why would I have a dream like this about lady gaga?

This is not trolling btw, I actually think she is very pretty and pretty cool.

Maybe you're into kinky stuff. Did you find out if she infact was a hermaphrodite? You probably went to bed after wanking to her.. only possible reason I could think of.

    Now for mine,
I hate these kind of dreams, because they frustrate the shit out of me.
My dream was where I was constantly getting into fights, don't get me wrong I love to fight, it's an adrenaline rush; but in dreams it's different.
Ever notice that when you're fighting someone in a dream, and you go to throw a punch, and JUST as it's about to land some incredible force makes it seem as though you only lightly nudge the person? That's what happened. Again.. and again.

Maybe I should try lucid dreaming, that could be fun :)

Actually, I'm pretty sure it's been proven that you dream several times each night, each one only lasting for seconds but the story seems like it goes on for hours or days. It's just if you finish your dream, you don't remember it, but if you somehow wake up during the dream, you will remember it.

It seems weird. Dreams are very interesting.

Is there a way to force lucid dreaming?

Because I keep having these dreams about me being a WWII soldier in the battlefield and then I fall off a cliff and see a bright light and then I wake up.

I know its cheesy, but it's weird.

There is supposed to be a technique to induce it, a couple people I know have done it. What you're supposed to do is repeat the phrase, "I am going to sleep, and while I'm asleep I will realize I'm dreaming." Although you won't do it by one night of repeating the phrase, but over time, you can induce lucid dreaming. If you stop the process, you have to start all over again, but then again who wouldn't if you can make dreams to whatever you want? Jessica alba is in all of my dreams..

and to you.. You can have nights without dreams at all. Theres blankness, due to something with your rapid eye movement.

Same :D my dreams are always completely different, and TOTALLY random, except this one dream:

Every year in July (since I was born), I am in a hospital trolley being rushed to a hospital room for an operation. It's not actually me, I'm a different person and all I know is that this person is tanned and I'm white  and basically there is this commentary of some creep saying "sometimes things are just too late" in a mocking, nasty way. I then get a blackout, and then I'm floating above a gravestone. I can never make out what the gravestone says, but I just float away and wake up sweating like hell!!!! Not sure why; I mean it's not scary or anything but I just wake up and my bed looks like it's fresh out of the wash.
