VPSes for botting - Talk about them here!

Idk about you guys, but I don't really need a vps.

Right now on my laptop, I'm running...
3x arteessence from rsbuddy
1x red chin hunter ( Don't know exact name ) from rsbuddy

I'm running..
500 Gb HDD
4 gb DDR3 Memory
AMD Athlon II x2 processor (2.1 GHz)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics Card

 

Well most people need a VPS for these main reason:
1. Their computer can't handle it. (Not the case for you)
2. They want to run more bots than their computer can handle. (Bot farm generally)
3. For some reason, they can't bot 24/7 on their computer (Family computer gets turned off at night maybe)
4. They don't want bots lagging their computer while they do other things (Goes along with #2)

How can I check how much ram is needed?

To check you current memory use type "free -m" into a terminal.

 

1785/2048 Ram used. That is more than enough to run the bot client. I don't understand what is going on here.

Could someone direct me to a guide on resetting your VPS' OS?

Does it come preinstalled with rsbuddy and how many bots can you run on the 1.5gb package... im looking to run a few blue dragon bots and one with arteabyss

Edit: I think the 3gb one looks pretty nice ; ill be getting that shortly depending on feedback for that vps

 

They all come with preinstalled bots: RSbot,nexus,rsbuddy. at the moment I am running 2 LRC bots, you can run 3 non intesive bots( like rc) 3 gig package will let you run twice more.

At the prices their offering, they're overselling or are just plain not as powerful as VPSInfinity.com. If and when their servers are full - they'll start lagging.

Not to mention they've only been around for a month or so.

 

On the website it says they never oversell... and i know you always talk about how great vpsinfinity is (little bias lol), ill make a decision soon; definitely like to hear others opinions

 

Of course I'm biased I know we're the best and I show no shame in it. If you check out other websites (Such as RSBots.net - majority of our client base) it's very popular.

Websites can say they oversell if they want, doesn't mean it's true. VPSInfinity uses Xen so it's not possible. He's also stating that he has Dual Hexacore Processors @ 2.0 Ghz - 1. I'm assuming that's AMD which doesn't even have hyperthreading 2. Even if it did have hyperthreading, you aren't going to double your performance (He states 48Ghz not 24Ghz) - you generally see a 30% boost with hyperthreading.

But yeah, feel free to do your own research Submit a ticket or PM me if you have any questions. We just sold out this morning (Yet another node completely sold in less than 48 hours) and are having parts shipped to add another soon.

 

I love how you say that you're the best, but you don't need to drop huge pile of shit on a fresh company which hasn't learned about this business yet.
AMD cpus are abit better in long-run in my opinion

 

I'm not dropping a pile of shit lol. All I said is with the prices their offering, unless they're running a charity fund, they're either overselling or their hardware is sub-par. Sorry if my response came off more negative than that.

AMD Cpus are nice for certain things - and you get better performance/$, but hyperthreading is an Intel technology, and even so you aren't going to see a 100% boost.

 

leeves(rsxvps owner) also offers XEN packages, 150m for 5gb ram I think.
I can't say anything about how godly/nooby they are until some time passes

 

This may sound weird, but my parents are both web designers and I have access to a dedicated server... Is there any way to use this to my advantage?
I assumed they were similar to VPS's. Maybe not though...
