Runescape Inflation

If you were in charge of Jagex how would you combat the rapidly increasing issue of inflation in runescape? With all the botting and farming going on gp is entering the game at a rate much faster than it should be.

Ex: I would combat it by creating a black phat and selling 1000 at the GE for 1 bill each and for just 1 month until it disappears from the store never to return. It would however remain trad-able after the npc store disappears. This alone would remove 1 trillion gp from the game deflating the economy. (Just an example)

Please refrain from posting 2 word comments such as remove bots, or anything relating the removal of bots unless there is a substantial argument backing up HOW you would do it.​

 

That's actually an interesting idea... Tbh, I would leave things how they are. JaGex is pulling in a lot of money because of bots - why would they want to stop them?

 

It's still sucky that gold is rapidly decreasing price.

 

They have come up with an idea..haha they are recently going to release lvl 85 armor and weps that will cost more then torva so.. This will hopefully fix it

 

I'd make another money drain skill like construction.

In all honesty, I'd say "fuck it" and leave it how it is. As long as I'm making cash off it, I could give less of a flying shit.

 

"Auras" for items that can be purchased from vendors for 50M or something.

This would add a purely aesthetic glow to a weapon or item.


Simple yet effective way to remove money, just make a money sink, like in WoW the Giant mammoths are a ton of money, skills cost money, etc.

At the moment there really aren't any modes of removing currency besides like having to pay for Dung weapon repairs, and barrows repairs.

 

Aren't you tryin to target people with like 10b+ instead of like 100m?

You guys fail to see that they arent dealing with inflation we are. The price of gold per cash is going down, they dont support RWT so they dont care.

 

But like the whole entire big picture.

I guess they can make an incredible usefull skill thats a huge money drain

 

I would remove wilderness for a period of 4 years. Then decided to bring it back after losing large amounts of money with the biggest poll in any free mmorpg.

 

Make a skill of flying to get to any X/Y coordinate, each level you could move 10-1000 squares more and make it a huge money skill, 1.3b for 1-99, and instantaneous travel to anywhere on the map.

I would add a Money skill cape with an epic money emote that costs 400mill

 

I thought the lvl 85 armour wasn't going to be buyable. Since, I heard that you would have to receive as a reward from different mini-games.

I used to think about that idea several years ago. If Jagex came out with that, I would totally buy a horse; it would be sick.
