Regarding Ordering Accounts.

One of the services that Lym and myself offer is "customizing" your own miner. Frequently we have people order miners and then not follow through with the purchase leaving us with all the work we done on an account. Yes, we are still able to sell this account, but the time spent training an account to a specified order can be pain staking and take away from other potential bots that we could have been focusing on for higher level sales. So what I purpose is to have some sort of repercussion for people that order custom accounts and waste peoples time.

I just used our shop as an example.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a Twc or a short market ban. With that being said if one person is solely responsible for doing this multiple times possibly a full market ban. I think would help resolve a lot of spam posts as well as people just trying to get post count up. This could also be implemented in gold sales. We could just put this through the report a post button. If they post for an order they have 3 days from the time it's done or they receive the punishment implemented. Unless pre-arranged pick up is at a later time. Thus THAT IF THIS IS STATED IN THE SELLERS TERMS AND CONDITIONS IT SHOULD BE PUNISHABLE.

 

Make them pay before you bot it. When it reaches the required level, hand it over to them.

Or make them pay 50% before, then 50% when its finished.

 

Support, annoying as hell.

It's just like someone asking you to train on a level 3 for them, you level it up.
Then they not pay you and leave you with something you don't need.

People order accounts, then never respond when you're done.

I wouldn't want to pay for something, then have to wait 2 weeks~
When it should already be ready. I'd rather pay for something and get it then.

 

People do this all the time; it's called the skilling services section.

Edit: as to the OP, please elaborate/throw out a suggestion to the reprocussion idea. We can work with it and possibly implement it with some help.

Make them pay you a fraction of the total cost. If they back out of it, you would be allowed to keep it.

I'm pretty sure you can't charge people for accounts that don't exist, which is why we don't do that.

I think people should receive a TwC if they bull shit around like that.

 

Of course not, you would be charging people because you're going to make an account with their desired stats.

 

Regarding taking money in advance for an account I really don't see this as an option because.

a) The account isn't even made yet.

b) opens a new realm for scammers to collect money and run away.

The person offering the custom accounts could be a scammer. That's what I was implying there. Collecting money from several customers before getting caught.

 

That's why you would only trade with members with a reputable trading history. I doubt that any of our ideas regarding this subject would be implemented though. If people trust you, they shouldn't have any problems going first, and my way (either one of them) would leave you at the advantage during the trade.

Yes, and I do see your perspective on this. But there's also a hidden agenda behind this which prevents scammers from just posting on your thread to increase post count. Which leads to the demise of some poor new legitimate Sythe member being potentially scammed out of money. Because realistically some new members see a post count and it impacts a decision to make a trade with a person. I learnt everything I know about account trading from losing a couple hundred dollars. Just there's more to this more positive initiative behind the idea then meets the eye.

So long as a social contract has been entered publicly on Sythe. So, they would be required to fill out a form on your thread and state explicitly that should they not purchase the account upon completion, the will be punished.

 

That's true but please explain the method of preventing people from leeching post count. The only way I could see this happening is if you took malakadang's advice.
