My computer RAM won't install correctly?

Hello. I need some help! I recently bought 2x1GB sticks of RAM to add to me 2x1GB sticks of RAM already... I made sure they were all exactly the same so my mother board would read them.

So I have put in them in my computer and when I load up my computer, go to computer, right click and click properties it only reads this:

If you can't see the image just click HERE

My operating system is x64bit so it should read it.

    Thanks :)

If you bought the same DDR type and frequency and are sure, boot into the BIOS and see if it's visible there. If it is, check all the timings and make sure all the sticks have matching timings.

    What Black Tux said or:

You can also go into the BIOS with both chips installed and see what it reads it as. It may need to be updated in the BIOS and saved for Windows to recognize it.

Who would pay someone to take a side panel off, push a stick into a slot, then put the side back on?

Might sound like a stupid question, but did you make sure the motherboard would support 4GB of RAM? If this is an older computer it may only support a maximum of 2GB.

It's Pentium D... not that old, and it supports 64-bit(the motherboard) so it definitely supports 4GB...

Okay.. I had this problem before..

take your two old sticks, and two new sticks, and alternate them in the slots so it goes

    old
    new
    old
    new

    or

    new
    old
    new
    old

Worked for me, but idk if it will for you. Would be the first thing I'd try though.
