Being called a bot while playing legit!

I'm not going to lie when I say that, under normal circumstances, I'm a fairly seasoned botter - and one of my greatest fears is being called a bot whilst I'm away from my computer, and having numerous reports ensue. And sure, that's fine - when that happens, it's an error on my part, and it forces me to upgrade my anti-ban.

But the thing that pisses me off is when I decide to play legit (i.e. I'm not botting) and this happens. An example of this is when I'm training at Bandits. The reason people play at bandits is to afk a bit, watch a movie, and allow themselves to relax - sans the rigmarole of completing a quest, or boss killing. Therefore, you're gonna see a lot of unresponsive players that aren't necessarily botting at all. Nevertheless, there's a large number of players that take it upon themselves to scope out all the bots. I've coined them the "Fucking Twat Bot Patrol Tools (Bot Patrol for short)." These idiots will walk up to you, talk to you for 10 seconds - and if you haven't replied in that 10 second window - they feel as if it's necessary to lure you out of your camping spot, out into the scalding desert sun and into 3 other bandits - hoping to kill you.

Usually I tab to my account before it meets it's demise, but I find this entire thing fucking annoying.

What about you guys? Anyone ever encounter this before? Do you think it's right for players to intentionally lure players that may not be botting?

Know what pisses me off? That people thing RS2G is the place for their fucking rants.

1. Go to bandits. Everyone is afking.
2. If you're on Sythe, your most likely account/gold trading. Which is ALSO against the rules.

 

afk training and macroing is the same, you're getting xp without doing anything

 

Maybe you didn't read the thread properly. I don't go to Bandits to pay attention. I go there, for the same reason everyone else does; which is to afk.

 

That's so far from the truth it isn't funny. Macroing involves the use of external technologies to achieve xp. And if Afking in Jagex's mind was so taboo, why are there places like Bandits where the NPCs are infinitely aggressive?

You can't really do anything about it. If you don't want to get reported, just talk more or just don't do bandits.

 

I agree man. I just hate the fact that people take it upon themselves to make sure you aren't a bot. They almost treat it like a job.

 

If you're not prepared to give your full attention then prepare to lose control of the situation and suffer any consequences that follow.

 

I usually played in split screen if I afk'ed, which allowed me to play RS and watch a movie at the same time.

Pretty ingenious. I've only got the one screen though, and I'd hate to restrict the movie to half the screen.

Just don't sit here and complain that while you usually are rule breaking, the time that you decide not to break the rules, and bitch about being accused.

To me, this seems like a reasonable thing to complain about. If you don't agree, fuck off and see if I give a shit?

 

Leaving the computer and not watching the RS screen is the same since you don't know what's happening to your character.

 

And that's where you're wrong. It isn't. The rule states that you "must be at the computer." It never says you have to be watching your character. Get your facts straight, buddy.

 

Afk doesn't technically mean you're physically away from your computer, dip shit.
