How to go around selling an account, that is safest for me?

I've played runescape for quite a few years and decided that I want to quit. I do however want to sell my account as I worked up quite a account. I am however bit scared of selling and getting scammed.

I was wondering if it would be best to sell off to an auction site and sell the account to them or sell it by myself. My account (and sub accounts) is 100% handmade, I know it's never been botted - but how do I protect myself from somebody looting my gear/cash and then claming a refund?

I could in theory buy an account, loot the stash, bot with some public script and then have it banned and just be like "you lied, give refund" - How do I protect myself from that?
