Why does everyone think they have rights?

I see and hear people talk about rights and freedom etc. but it's not true you don't have shit. You only have your freedom or rights until someone more poweriful tells you what to do.

Discuss your thoughts on this topic.

 

I think everyone has his rights, not until someone more powerful shows. You always have your rights.

 

Everyone has rights until the NWO actually are able to proceed with controlling the world's currency.
NWO controls everything..

 

I do agree with you to some extent....some people sadly don't have freedom of speech/rights, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve them.

Drop your attitude, you have the right to be civil on these forums, but not to be horrid.

 

You always have your rights, but other people may not always respect them. For example: I can punch you in the face, rape your sister and lock your family in my basement if I want to - it's against your rights and even though I've violated them, those rights still exist, they just haven't been kept to by me.

I also am not referring to what should be I am referring to what is. I believe everyone should have freedoms etc. but all the time I see the exact opposite.

I am not a child I'm not speaking of bullying etc. lol I am referring to laws etc. that are put in place that contradict the rights and beliefs the USA and many other countries say that hold dear.

This is exactly the type of thing that I'm talking about.

I am not talking about drastic things which threaten other people life but even to your theory you're wrong, because then you would go to prison which would mean you did not have the right to do so.

I am talking about the right to say whatever you want.

and a couple more examples that are in the usa.

You buy some land, and build a house you are then fined\told to take it down by the government because you didn't have a surveyer come and inspect and get the proper building permitt, if you have bought something it is yours you shouldn't have to be ok'd by another person to do something as long as it does not conflict with neighbors etc.

 

You've got freedom and rights, but not everywhere you go will you have the same rights and freedoms. You can do whatever you want, but it depends where you're and if you end up getting caught.

 

Well follow the rules and get a surveyor to come and inspect your land and this wouldn't happen. People who blame their own stupidity on others are just as stupid as people who build stuff without the proper permits. You buy something, you should own it but if you're careless and don't care for the safety of others then it should be taken away.

 

Because we should have rights. It's just that people can't make choices effectively enough to operate without a form of government.

 

Please explain to me how having a fence on your property line [ still in your yard] if going to hurt someone as apposed to the 2 foot away from the line as my city ordinance dictates.

as for your permit statement, if it's your property then its up to you if people don't feel its safe then don't go in or around the house simple as that. Thats like saying you need to have a permit to plug in 2 extension cords to each other then connect them to the wall. Is it dangerous ? yes, is it against the law? no. permits in general [ not all but a decent portion] are just stupid and contradict everything that most of our original laws enforce for the people.

I understand this as well and I agree 100% but it's ridiculous how bad it is. take for instance.

There was some kind of government person [ don't remember what he was in charge of or anything it was a while ago obviously] he said he did not agree with George W. Bush Jr. and thus was forced to resign from office, or with what happened with Dan Rather. It absolutely contradicts the freedom to speak.

 

Well you read my thought. Follow the rules that are common sense and you shouldn't come in trouble with the law. Act like an baboon and you should be treated as one.

Please explain to me as to how any of my examples could cause any problems. idk if you know this but you can fail a building permit in some counties around where I live to build a 5x5 shed if you have under 2 acres of land.

What law prevents someone from saying what Dan Rather or the other government official from voicing their opinions about GWB etc.?

Also we have the right to freedom of speech and yet a white person calls a black person a [put racial slur here] and it's a hate crime, but every other ethnicity is allowed to use these slurs [ although saying it on tv etc. might get you into some trouble] I just find it insanely moronic that there are such so called values that our governments use to help hold our civilizations together That are far from being the value they describe.

 

I have rights because the more "powerful" in the world are just more humans like myself, on a pale blue dot in the vast universe. Just because they have more "power" doesn't mean they should hold rights above us.

 

If people could build houses on property without getting it inspected, and "O.K.'d" by the Gov. We'd have some complete shit areas, (not that there aren't already). And dangerous. You said that someone who considers it dangerous shouldn't go near it. What if they can't tell, or if they're a little kid? A little kid runs through the property, doesn't see the HUGE holes everywhere that were supposed to be taken care of, falls in one and isn't found for days. Then what? They tell the owner it's his fault? Oh, but there's nothing that says he can't do that, so he just gets off the hook for keeping his stuff in shit condition? That doesn't make sense to me. The examples you used I don't think were very good. Rights are rights, and won't change any time soon.

But you have the freedom to fight for what is right && must people these days dont remember that. && just goes along with society
