Can humans create a perfect government?

I'm interested in seeing what kind of responses I get. I don't plan on being too deeply involved in this thread, but I would like to see how close humans can get to creating a perfect government.

Maybe to start off the topic someone should post examples of past successful governing bodies.

This thread assumes that a perfect government causes as little dissatisfaction as possible (rather than causing as much positive satisfaction as it possibly can.)

Can humans create a perfect government?

I don't believe there is a perfect government.

We must first come to an agreement on what a "perfect government" is, which is really hard considering not everyone has the same morals, values, and views. If you're talking about something like an utopia then I'm not too sure, it is possible, but highly unlikely.

I'm talking about a government that doesn't cause anyone grief. Just going by that definition and not much more. I don't think a government can make everyone happy.

No because a perfect government would imply an individual with a high sense of morals and must be a true altruist.

No matter how you structure your government: bipartisanship, separation of powers, etc.. It all comes down to the people we have in office.

Rarely do we encounter people who meet the requirements of an exemplary leader (human whim always makes one deviate from these "ideal characteristics").

Can humans create a perfect government?

"Human" and "perfect" cannot possibly be used logically in the same sentence, so I say no. There's no way to create a perfect government. Out of the billions of people on earth, there's bound to be one man who is not satisfied with the hierarchy. It's equally probable that there is a group of people who oppose authority solely because they want to.

Also, if you don't plan on getting into depth with a debate, then post it in the general discussion rather than in the debate section. This section IS for in-depth discussions.. imo

Can humans create a perfect government?

We could, but it would require participation from everyone. Not just a few people that want to be in a position of power.

Can humans create a perfect government?

This would make more sense in general discussion then; a different title could work too, "How close can humans come to creating a perfect government?" I just would like more intelligent responses.

I do think that humans can't create a perfect government, but I believe that there is a way to create a government that receives less negativity than any other. How to do it? I don't know, I'm only a high school student.

Would honestly be a very boring country if the government was perfect. Just like when these beauty queens say "world peace", yeah! Boring.

You mean, like a Utopian society? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonestown - Whilst it may not be perfect in our eyes, it would have been for the adherents. First, we must establish what a "perfect government" is, or if it even possible.

Perfect Government - Isn't the need of the Government to meet all the needs of the Majority, Meet the needs of what they said to be voted in power, not uptopia sort of thing.

Humans can't create a perfect government. Firstly, humans are governed by emotion, this in itself is irreducible. Secondly, for a Government to exist successfully, it must have a monopoly of power on its citizens, this monopoly of power is a grossly imperfect quality.

Can humans create a perfect government?

    *Sorry for mistakes in advance!

    Fast answer: NO

    Long answer: (see below)

The answers is a big NO. There is too many stupid that can vote. I mean we give this right to everyone when they are old enough to vote.

People should earn the right to vote if they are enough intelligent to understand what is happening in a country.

I understand that everyone have their own ideas and I respect this but there is too many dumb people, I'm sorry to say it but it's true!

So Instead of creating a perfect government, the people that get into the government simply take profits of the situation and do what they want to do.

I'm not saying that everyone is stupid , but just look around in the world and see what happens.

Some people are really intelligent but just don't have money or good jobs or what ever you want but they are intelligent and they do what the best they can do with what they have.

I don't know if you guys see what I am meaning.

Humans are not perfect so we can't create a perfect government. That's simple as that! And we also have the problem that everyone can vote!

Yes. A government that causes little to no grief can exist, but only in individual communities of under 150 people, where everybody knows each other well and often don't form an official government.
