Explanation of the trade:

So some context behind this trade, I was purchasing a rs3/osrs jagex account from Online for $200 USD.
this was the listing:

after some back and fourth figuring things out, i bought the osgp amount totaling nearly the whole $200 USD. (1.25B) and i was to pay him the remainder of 80m osgp within a week. I had a death occur in my family and to be frank, i wasn't in the best state of mind and Runescape wasn't even on my mental radar. i did lack communication at times but did assure him that i'd take care of him. when it came down to it, he told me we could cancel the trade, which i wasn't objecting at all! i immediately gave him the account back and offered for him to keep 200m of the 1.25b as a fee for inconvenience and just give me back 1B, that's fair right? i guess not because he started acting how he did just look at the screenshots and you can figure it out from there. i'm not a scammer, i've been onsite for several years and i've donated myself and it's a shame that i was banned and didn't have the opportunity to speak before that happened. now common sense says he's supposed to give me my money right? instead i got a run-around and then he blocked me without a refund of my $ or finishing the deal when i had the time to finish it. a disgusting person and he should be ashamed

i'm not sure how to respond directly to this as a guest but i have reached out to staff member Zulu on discord aswell with all of the video proof of me paying Online in realtime with his discord id in the video, all of the chat lots and where he has me blocked. i can respond there or i will try back here, this is a genuine shame. its been over a month trying to figure this out with him. and yeah i crashed out at the end there, my fault.

The outcome of the scam report i posted was I could recover the account resell the account.

Yes, I sold it for about $50 more than what Sloopy tried to purchase for.

I did have fears closer to the time of sale that Sloopy may attempt something like a recovery/get it banned. Which was even further confirmed when they evaded their discord block with messages such as the following:

 

You scammed me at the end of the day. I'm not sitting here and saying i'm perfect and i did say i crashed out there. so in the chat logs you said when you sold the account you'd pay me my money back. when can we meet to do that?

 

I want to clarify i did say that dumb ass shit. I was infuriated at the fact you think you're just not going to give me my money back. that's not how that works, what you did was called scamming regardless at the end of the day. I asked for the usernames at the end there because i set one i paid for and i was going to talk to you about getting it back, but you say what am i trying and then block me. You can continue to sit and try to justify your actions and/or make me look bad, it doesn't change the fact that you scammed me for nearly $200.

 

I've tried to add you and reach out to get my money back on a few different occasions prior to making this report and you've gone above and beyond to ignore me.

 

and with all of the evidence i've provided, i genuinely believe you deserve a ban regardless of your reputation or donator status. you tried taking advantage of me and thought you'd genuinely get away with that? this is a blantant scam by YOU @Online

 

would also like to clarify this ignorant crashout was 17 days after you had blocked me, and i finally got a chance to actually message you. i didn't do anything and i wouldn't ever have. i admit that was dumb to say. But lets please make this clear, actions speak louder than words. and your actions have shown who you are and how you operate.

 

if i were looking at this from any staff standpoint this situation is straightforward: i paid 1.25b osgp (about $175–200) and staff already has video proof of the payment, so the burden of proof is on him. he cancelled the deal and i immediately returned the account, meaning i no longer had the product and was owed my money back since the trade was basically undone except for the payment. i even offered to let him keep 200m for the inconvenience which shows i was acting in good faith and trying to resolve things, which is no longer on the table. i want my 1.25b he told me he would refund me after he resold the account, and he even admitted publicly that he sold it for about $50 more than i was buying it for, which means he got the account back, resold it, profited, and still kept my original payment. that alone is textbook scamming. even though i got frustrated and sent an angry message 17 days after he blocked me, that doesn’t change the fact that he was obligated to refund me. on every rs black market site, blocking a buyer to avoid repayment is considered intent to scam, and that’s exactly what he did. his excuse about “fearing a recovery” doesn’t justify keeping my 1.25b because if he was worried he should’ve used a middleman, involved staff, or cancelled properly, NOT take the money and run. as it stands he failed to deliver, cancelled the trade but kept my payment, resold the product without refunding me, blocked me, admitted it all publicly, and kept making excuses instead of paying me back. this is a 100% clear scam and the appropriate action is a ban or dnt until he refunds the 1.25b or resolves it with staff. i did everything correctly including returning the account, providing proof, reaching out multiple times, and owning my mistakes, but he still took advantage of the situation. he confirmed the scam himself in his own response.

I can confirm the resale was for $275. and I believe my position aligns with the moderator's ruling from the original dispute - "@Online is free to take back ownership of the account and relist it."

1. The trade was declared nullified. By ruling the original transaction void, the moderators removed any contractual obligation I had toward Sloopy. That means I was free to take the account back and sell it again without owing him anything further.
   
   
2. Sloopy acted in bad faith. He never paid the final 10 % and has openly threatened to have the account banned—a clear attempt to damage both me and the legitimate buyer. Accepting a refund under those conditions would reward his bad‑faith behavior and expose the new owner to unnecessary risk.
   

Given these points, I see no reason why the moderators’ decision shouldn’t also validate my resale and the profit I earned from it.

 

1. The trade was declared nullified” does not mean he regained ownership of the account.
   A nullified trade simply means the original agreement is reset, not that the seller automatically gains the right to resell the product while still holding the buyer’s money. He is twisting the ruling to imply the staff granted him ownership and profit, which was never stated by any moderator.
2. 1. He resold an account that was still disputed and had not been returned to him.
      At no point did he retrieve the account back from me before reselling it.
      You cannot claim ownership of a product that is still under dispute while simultaneously refusing to issue the refund owed. His resale violates Sythe’s rules against double-selling before the initial transaction is resolved.
   
   
3. 1. His claim that I acted in “bad faith” is a deflection.
      The only reason the final 10% was not sent is because he had already withheld the refund for the bulk of the payment.
      Sythe rules do not require a buyer to continue sending payments to a seller who is already refusing to honor the agreement.
      He is using my frustration after being scammed as justification to continue withholding my money.
   
   
4. 1. Any frustration I expressed has no relevance to the financial dispute.
      Comments made out of anger do not excuse keeping my payment or profiting twice from the same account.
      The proper resolution is to refund the original buyer, not to resell the account to someone else and keep both payments.
   
   
5. 1. He openly admits to profiting from a transaction that was voided.
      This alone shows intent. A voided trade cannot produce profit.

and let's make one thing clear @Online you decided to scam me for $175 and eventually you're going to face repercussions for your actions. anyone else would receive a ban and a DNT. look at the timestamps on our messages, you had me blocked for three weeks before i ever messaged you. you refused to add me and respond. in our chatlogs you agreed to give me my money back, when you got an attitude and switched up like an absolute child, decided to SCAM me and block me for three weeks without my payment, is when i messaged you. you're trying to paint an image of yourself that is not bad, yet you've obviously proven yourself a scammer. the moderator's have stated they didnt tell you to keep my money to me directly, so whar do you have to say about this?
