    Good processor?

Is this a good processor and how many NeXuS bots can it run until it maxes out? Don't worry about the RAM as there will be plenty to cover. I will be using it for everything and even maxing it up with bots when I'm in need if cash.

    - AMD Phenom II 1065T Six-Core
    - 6 Processor cores
    - 2.90GHz
    - AMD Radeon HD 6450 (Graphic card)

    To give you a better idea, my other computer with;

    - AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 620 Quad-Core
    - 4 Processor cores
    - 2.60 GHz
    - NVIDIA GeForce 9100

can run 10 NeXuS bots max.

Would also like help concerning this; http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1200335

    Thanks for the help.

    I'd estimate 16.

NeXuS bots right? and does the "my current computer specification" on my main post give you a better idea that changes your estimation?

    Good processor?

    I'd give it 8-10 Bots.

    Good processor?

Considering his current quad core at a lower ghz can run 10, it'd be more than that.

I would stick with my 16 estimate, 18 tops.

    Good processor?

I disagree with this. I know for sure it's 10+ bots... if my current computer's processor can run 10bots max while being worse than the one I'm going to get, I'm sure this can run more.

    Thanks for your help anyways.

@Rawr, I also thought the same but I was somewhere near 20 bots but I'll wait for others' opinions. Thanks :)

Wait what? I had an Athlon II X4 620 with 8GB of RAM and my processor maxed out at like 7 bots, how the hell are you getting 10 lol

Anyways, I highly doubt you'll be getting 20. I'd say an absolute maximum of 15, but probably closer to 12ish.

I think it depends on the script, as maybe they each take a different amount of CPU?

I can go to 100% CPU with it bouncing from 99% to 100%.

BTW, not sure if this will make a difference but I put up 2 tabs for each window so got 5 up.

I'd go with a sandy bridge machine to be honest.
Even though the cpu you picked is a 6 core, there are a lot of intel quad core processors that are more powerful. Intel tends to use better architecture which usually means better performance. For around you're budget, you can get an i5 2500k. A beast SB machine will cost you about $700, but it's the best for the price if you throw a 2600k in there. Plus you can OC those to over 4.5ghz, usually just with stock cooling.

    Good processor?

I am buying a desktop computer that is already made from a retail store, I'm not buying parts and pieces to built myself... If shit happens, I'll need to take money out of my pocket to repair it whereas if I buy from retail store, I can easily go to them (I always purchase warranty). I'm looking to use about $1000 or a little over.

According to your link's chart, it shows that the difference between my current and new processor is 2451%... does this mean that "my" new processor is twice as good as my current one (or at least close to)?

Thanks, that link really helped me. Bookmarked.

Just so you know, you usually always work out with longer warranty coverage if you go custom build than if you don't. You get like what, a one or two year warranty on a prebuilt, maximum? Most products from places like NewEgg have at least 1 or 3 year warranty, quite a few have 5-10 or lifetime warranty. Point is, if warranty is what's holding you back from going custom, it's a non-issue.

In a sense yes. But only for how they tested it. If that makes any sense.

You can build a way better computer than you can buy prebuilt for $1000.

    Good processor?

I'm going to look into it, if it seems too hard, I'll pass. I've got a lot of time to decide as I will probably buy on December or sooner. Can you link me to a very detailed guide on how to put the parts together?

Also, I'm not good with computers so I don't know what parts I'll need and what will go good together, if you know what I mean. Is there a guide for this as well?

Thanks so much for your help.

Okay, that's a lot of reading. Will read once I get back as I need to go out.

So these are the parts/components that I need to purchase:

    Motherboard
    CPU
    Memory Slots
    Power supply
    Video card
    Drive jumpers

    Is that all?

Be back about 2 hours later.

Oh, sorry. I thought what you meant by outdated was only the Ide and sata.

Thanks for the list, will look into prices and such now.

Also found a great computer guide video for people new to this like me at newegg.
