The riots are horrendous. They're going on about 30 minutes away from me too.

    Riots in London

I don't watch the news unless I feel like it at times. What triggered the riot and what was it about? Seems big and bad...

    Riots in London

I think it was a racial incident (police shooting).

    Riots in London

A local 'gangster' type was shot by the police, the police were only meant to disarm/hurt him but he was killed there and then. The actual killing was more of a trigger for the tension that has been building between the government and the working class, mainly due too the 'Fat cat' conservative government making the poor suffer. Also a lot of racial tension in an area that is predominantly african-caribbean. A similar incident happened in 1985 in Tottenham due too the conservative government of the time and the recession that happened at this time. These were also triggered by the killing of an african-caribbean women by the police.

    Riots in London

All over the news and facebook. Hasn't spread south really yet. I'm on the south-east coast, would be interesting to see if it spreads this far, and what would happen if so.

    Riots in London

I don't get it... People have major riots over corrupt governments and high taxes or something... For what reason are people in UK rioting?

I just heard some police shot a man, a small riot happened, and that just escalated and spread like wildfire, then you had looting, burning buildings/cars, gangs forming (to protect their area's etc.).

Anyone know if there's any GOOD reason for any of this?

The areas where the rioting is happening is around low imcome area's which a lot of people blame the government for.

Also my bro-in-law accidently drove through one of the places today and had to drive on the pavement to get away.

    Riots in London

Police shot a man for no reason so police should started a riot in one place "tottenham" and then they took advantage of it by breaking into shops all over london and stealing stuff/burning peoples cars
I was there yesterday and today it is MADD :D :D :D
