Possible fake crimson charm

Ok guys i was botting abyssal demons on my account, after about 30 mins i went to check on it and it apparently shut off because it couldnt loot this crimson charm. I thought, ok let me try and grab it. It wouldnt grab the charm at all, and when i tried to examine it, nothing at all would happen. It was as if the charm was not there, but i could still see it and my bot picked it up as something to try and loot, but failed. I world hopped and this didnt happen in the other world so im still very confused about what just happened.

However, it got me to thinking that maybe jagex has (or will in the future) put items commonly looted (like crimson charms) in commonly botted areas but normal players cannot see them, only reflection clients or clients that read the code from runescape can see them, thus showing jagex who the botters are. I'm not sure this is what happend to me just now, but it was definately weird.



EDIT: This just happened again, for now im going to have to take crimson charms off the loot list, its the only way to be sure/ This is VERY weird.

 

I suppose it is possible that jagex put them in to try and catch botters out.

but normal players would have to see them too. The whole point of reflections is that jagex cant detect them one bit. If jagex knew who was using reflections or a bot clientthen they would know that the account was being botted.

 

Im now pretty sure SOMETHING is up. This same charm has been in the same spot for about 5 minutes now and has not disappeared. Good thing im not looting them anymore. Could this mean i could be flagged for a ban?

And what world is it in so other botters know where to avoid, etc.

 

perhaps it was just a colourful piece of scenery you were confused by?
These a dark botting times. Runescape has got around 1-2 years left, so everyone should expect jagex to be planning somthing big to stop the botters.

 

Are you sure your bot isnt lagging?

I think you should so some researching and see if this has happened to anyone else.
I also suggest not to bot for the next couple of days. Just in case.

Ok the charm is pretty much in the middle of the room in the slayer tower in the abyssal demons area. My comp isnt lagging, i have 8gb of ram and quad core 2.66ghz processor. The bot im using is perfect fighter which has NEVER bugged out on me before.

This was no piece of scenery, it sais "take crimson charm" and it was on the floor, i saw it and my bot tried multiple times to pick it up but nothing happened. It was like it was there but it wasnt at the same time because i couldnt interact with it at all but i saw it and when i hovered over it it looked like a normal crimson charm. I could not examine it, if that is important.

EDIT: This has happened in multiple worlds, one of them being 136.

 

Naaw, probably just some funky glitch. Jagex doesn't seem to be trying slick things like your idea on botters -- they tend to just let them go.

Kind of unique, nonetheless.

I didnt take a picture at the time, but if this happens again i will definately take a pic for you guys. Still, a picture wouldnt show how i couldnt interact with it....it would just show the charm there. Still, ill try botting again today and see if i have the same problem and will take pictures this time.

 

He's not lying, it's just a "nulled" charm that can't be picked up. Glitch within the game. I bot waterfiends for charms and sometimes this happens.

 

This has happend to me b4 at waterfiends...like 3 days ago. I just hoped worlds.

 

Yeah, it's been confirmed on the Rsbuddy forums that there is a so called "fake" charm. The developer of ArteWaterfiends made it to where if it won't pick up the charm after 4 tries, it leaves it alone.

 

Wow, its good to know im not the only person this has happened to lol! Had me freaked out for a bit haha. Is there anyway to avoid this happening? id really love to be able to pick up crimson charms but if it means my bot will stop working....i cant justify it.

 

same thing happens with big bones from hill giants, jagex said they put a limit on drops to stop botters, but I think a group of free players got Jagex to remove the limit somehow
