You'll regret saying that when you're older.

I'm sure that applies to most people, but I highly doubt it. You have no idea how much I despise the place.

I like school, I don't know why people dislike it really. If you go there actually wanting to learn, you'll find it's actually pretty good.

I enjoy almost every subject I do, with exceptions to PE and Religion.

Looking forward to going to university actually.

Edit: If you think this is bad, I'd hate to see where you'll be going with the rest of your working life.

It's your only hope of securing any form of decent job in the future. Gold farms won't make you enough money to life from.

I don't mind school nor the concept of it, I just don't like the way my current school is ran, particularly because the majority of the teachers are utterly useless (and I'm not just saying that because I'm mad)

    I'm well aware of that.

I don't know how old you are but I can relate to bad teaching. The simple way to get around this is to make a huge effort at home by yourself.

I'm not sure where to start really. My grades are above average and my learning potential I feel is high. Not to sound big headed, but I'm pretty intelligent for my age (Just 15, going into my last year of school in September) and it feels wasted.

It's good to be above average. In most countries average is terrible. For example, here in England the average GCSE grade for maths is an E. So anyone with a D is above average.

Try hiring tutors maybe. If your learning potential is high why not use it? Which subjects are you strongest in?

There are only two things that make school much easier. A genuine interest in the subject combined with a good teacher. Friends to make the time pass quicker. If you can manage both, school is actually an enjoyable place.

I would take your life and be grateful. Try to support yourself and your mother (who's sick with cervical cancer) on 5 hours a day at barely above minimum. Try taking calculus II, chemistry II & lab, physics & lab, and political science all in the same semester at college. Try getting up at 5 every morning and going home at 12 midnight every night.

I'd take your life gladly, just to finally have a bit of me time

I live in England also. I didn't even know the average was an E, I have a C in maths and am retaking it next year (I did it in year 9 and got a C.. aiming for an A or B next summer). My grades tend to average A/B, and my strongest points are English and IT.

Shame you're banned. MSN me if you like.

I think nowadays, at least with the US school system, you can't go to school wanting to learn. They don't teach you to learn at school anymore, they teach you to memorize things just good enough to do well on a test, and then it's on to the next subject and you don't use the stuff you learned until the end of the year exams or whatever you have. I don't mind going to school too much, because that's where I hang out with all of my friends. I personally don't go to school to learn, but to have a life. School is just a waste of time as it is right now. They don't teach you things that you will need for REAL LIFE. Sure you will use simple math in life, and history comes in handy, but they just pound it into your head so that you can get correct answers on a test, and the school gets paid more.. The school system is just one big clusterfuck.

Yes when i was in school, i despised the place, as i was severely bullied, and attempted suicide on a number of times, but trust me m8, it is the best place to ever be.

In my opinion being ~15/16 is the best age to be. You can do most things, while not worry about bills, jobs, tax e.t.c.

But it does seem that you've got a busy time ahead of you which is a bummer but Ce la vie.

I use calculus in real life. That's one of the biggest units that's taught. Will do so a lot more when I go to university, given an engineering degree.

Though I do see where you're coming from. In Australia there are usually a lot of problems modeled around actual real life applications so we know where to use these things, but people are still only usually taught formulae and rules and what not without actually understanding the concept. As I take the time to think and understand the concept, I can get As by doing no work whatsoever during class time.
