    Workout Routine?

I need to fill in these slots. I am pretty skinny right now and i'm thinking about starting to work out:

    Monday: 5 Miles on Treadmill _____ ______ ______ ______

    Tuesday: 3 Miles on Treadmill _____ ______ ______ ______

    Wednesday: 3 Miles on Treadmill _____ ______ ______ ______

    Thursday: 5 Miles on Treadmill _____ ______ ______ ______

    Friday: 3 Miles on Treadmill _____ ______ ______ ______

    Saturday: 3 Miles on Treadmill _____ ______ ______ ______

I need a few more things to do other than Situps and Pushups. I already have those down. I was hoping that you can help me fill in the blanks because I have no idea what exercises to do to build muscle and keep up my stamina (Cardio-wise). Thanks in advance for any responses.

    Workout Routine?

If you're skinny and want to gain muscle mass you'll have to consume more calories than you burn. With all that cardio you have planned you simply will not gain any muscle mass. If you want to keep your stamina up then do maybe 1 mile a day on top of weight lifting. I suggest that you browse www.bodybuilding.com. Before I started working out 4 years ago I went on there and just researched everything nonstop.. I learned A LOT. I would give you a workout routine that you could do, but it's best if you take in the information that can be found there and form your own workout routine with the knowledge that you gain.

No problem, that site is the best for information on lifting, dieting, and everything else that has to do with fitness. I wish you the best man.. I haven't worked out for a week or two now.. gotta get back to hitting the weights haha.

Check out local gyms to see if they have any olypmic weightlifting programs. In my experience it's great for making a strong base in order to build on. After you do that you can start getting fit and looking good along with getting strong.

    Workout Routine?

Your best bet for a solid workout is 4 miles of cardio every day (1 hour walking usually does the trick), and 3 days of weight lifting (Mon, Wednesday, Friday) with a day of rest in between. Muscles need a full 48 hours to regenerate after you tear them by weightlifting.

If you're aiming for muscle, drink a protein shake twice a day, every day. On workout days drink it right before and after the workout. Off days drink it for breakfast and right before dinner.

Hmm, Malyce are you sure about that? I find myself getting stronger while I work out much more and at best a 24 hour resting period once a weak.

    Workout Routine?

Positive. My dad was a professional body builder and all my friends lift professionally. Whenever you lift your muscles tear. If you don't let them rest you're only getting diminishing returns and risking major injury.

    Workout Routine?

I've been training for a good year and my instructor holds many national records and most of the people he has trained including my brother do quite well, my brother recently broke a world record in Carson in the cross fit games with the same work out as I do, though even harder
