Did the US land on the moon?

Did the United States REALLY land on the moon, or was it faked by the government?

I do not think that we (U.S) landed on the moon because there is too much proof against it. Such as there being no stars in the background and how the Lunar Module would have never managed the trip and the astronauts would have died with such little protection from radiation.

Did the US land on the moon?

To beat Russia by faking something they knew they couldn't actually do?

I still think this isn't faked, if so it would probably be leaked already.

Why would the government leak this if it would give them a bad name for keeping a secret from the citizens and people of the world for such an extended amount of time?

I have no idea, things like these are involving so many persons, atleast one of them would eventually open his mouth.

    No stars:

This isn't a half-bad concern to raise, however, it is explainable. First off, cameras themselves have limitations. It took millions/billions of light years for such light to even reach the Moon, so, it would be very dim. However, we need to take into account that the moon has no atmosphere, it should therefore stand to reason that we should be able to see dozens of stars? Wrong. The Sun is the closest star to the moon, and the brightness it shines on the moon is extraordinary. There is much more light reflecting everywhere, and thus, the dim light from the stars millions of times further away than the sun gets blocked out.

If you'd like to test this, go to a very very very bright city and look at the sky. Go to a not so bright paddock, and look at the same night sky.

I don't see how the Lunar Module could not manage the trip.

As for radiation, they were in a spacecraft. It was designed to withstand the enormous amounts of radiation. They also factored this in, they designed a route that was not the quickest, but the safest in terms of minimizing radiation exposure.

Pretty sure you are right with the stars explanation, not even going to try and argue with that, but I have read from multiple sources that in the 60's it would have been nearly impossible to create a lunar module that could successfully reach the moon and come back and create enough protection from radiation for the astronauts themselves.

EDIT: Also, in one of the moon landing videos, the flag on the moon was waving around, which could only be caused by a breeze or wind, which would be impossible on the moon because it has no atmosphere.

I'm not sure about what materials they had at their disposal, I actually don't see many people criticizing this one. Though, I'll leave this one for someone else as I have no knowledge of the subject.

    This is another common one.

You are quite right, the moon has no atmosphere. Therefore, it cannot be a natural breeze, or wind. Let's analyze this in more than one way.

If it was staged then, where would the wind come from on Earth? Outside of course. I would have no idea why anyone would film the moon landing outside on a windy day. If it where inside, I'd have no idea why anyone would have a fan aimed at the flag. Also, it would appear that perhaps the US government was too lazy. It doesn't really add up. Possible though for a conspiracy theory, but unlikely.

This particular conspiracy neglects one thing. The flag. The flag wasn't any ordinary flag, it was specifically designed to stay upright, otherwise it would droop down due to gravity and there wouldn't be much point of that. The flag was more than likely 'blowing in the wind', but the action it took was not caused by wind, rather, astronauts trying to plant the flag on the ground. Remember, the flag will remain in an upright position not a dropped one.

Go and try shove something in the ground. It's better to twist and turn it correct? If you apply some basic laws of motion to that, you would realize that the flag would most certainly wave around, and, because of it's upright position imitate a sequence of events that look similar to wind causing it.

Not completely true, there were times where there was nobody near the flag or someone was just walking by the flag while it was waving.

Where are such pictures, also, you do realize an object will remain in motion unless acted upon by an external force? The flag will continue to move for a while.

True, but not if it changes motion randomly. I'll find a video in the morning, I am tired.

As said before, once the motion had been set on the flag and it was in movement, it would not stop until an action was taken upon the flag.

What would be slowing down the waving? Friction? Doubt it.

The explanation for the waving of the flag was that the astronauts simply set off the movement, and then it did not stop due to their being no forces acting against it.

Well they most probably did land on the moon, as they left retro reflectors on the moon itself. If you point a strong laser at them, the beam would be reflected straight back to the point of origin. You can test this yourself, if you have an extremely strong laser, which can be found at the best observatories. :)

That's a good explanation! In space there is barely any friction, therefor the flag remains waving. Although I did not look into this whole 'landing on the moon is fake' conspiracy, I doubt they would fake it.

The flag is all the proof we need. The spacecraft was able to withstand the radiation and the lack of stars was already mentioned.

Also, you need to factor in solar winds, which would make the flag wave.

I don't think solar wind is an actual 'wind'. From my knowledge in relation to the sun, it happens because the temperature of the sun is so hot, that it breaks down the atoms into charged protons and electrons. These electrons get ejected outwards from the sun. I'm 99% sure it's not an actual wind that could move a flag.

Pretty sure it's real as there is no real mandatory reason to fake it.
