Ghosts: Do they exist?

yeah, they're vibrational remnants of memories. They become more intense during very traumatic situations that people experience.

 

I don't believe in ghosts, there just isn't solid enough proof for me to consider their existence but I can see some of you that have posted have had paranormal experiences that have led you to be more inclined in believing in ghosts. I have never experienced anything paranormal ergo my skepticism in the existence of ghosts.

 

I do believe in ghosts. There is a school about 100 yards from my house. The school was built almost 75 years ago. I went to it when I was in Elementary School and was there for 5 years, never noticed a thing. Then one night last summer, my brother, my cousin and I went to the school. Honestly, I don't remember why we went there, but we got there and there was a really eerie feeling, so we looked in the windows for a bit to see how creepy the school got in the summer. We were looking for about 3-5 minutes when all of a sudden the shape of a body moved towards the window then disappeared. It freaked me out. I had never seen such a thing, so it spooked me for a while.

Then the next day my friend came over and was going to stay over for the night, so of course we brought him to the school that night to see if he saw anything similar to what we saw. At the time he was texting his mom, who knew what we were looking for, and recieved a text from her that said, "Beware of things that go bump in the night." At the time we just thought it of it as a joke. So some time went by and we hadn't seen anything, and we were about to head home when we saw something in one of the classrooms. There seemed to be a red light that was in the classroom, that could only be seen on an angle. It was kind of creepy, but then out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move in a part of the classroom. Apparently my friend saw it too, because we both jumped. We immediately grabbed our bikes and rode them back to my house, but when we returned to the house, the text my friend received had disappeared, which really creeped us out. His mom also never recalls sending the message.

So we went on google and searched the name of the school and found out that it used to be a church. There also used to be a man who lived behind the church. He was apparently crazy and had visited a nearby mental hospital multiple times. So I am thinking that this "ghost" is the same man who used to live on the same ground that the school is on now.

You can call this story fake if you want, I really don't care because I was truly there and I know what happened. I guess it takes something big to happen for someone to believe in something, so I thought I would share it on sythe.

 

I don't believe it, we don't have any proof that ghosts are around in the Earth.

 

I don't think they exist, i think that when people claim they have seen them, or heard them or when you watch programmes like ghost hunter and stuff, there are scientific explinations the things are happening, and i believe most people say it was super natural activity because they can't explain why something happened, and why do the "Ghost hunters" always go looking for them in dark places or at night? it's because when it's dark we cannot see as much which creates mystery as to whats is around you, you hear something and jump to conclusions and get nervous, and then sometimes when people get so nervous hey begin to hallucinate or imagine things and actually believe they have seen something

 

Being raised to believe in an afterlife, and hearing several supernatural encounter stories from my mom's side of the family in their childhood home, yes I'd have to say it's entirely possible.

One thing that really intrigued me was; in a Dan Brown book, a quantum physicist measured the atomic mass of a dying man in an air-tight chamber down to several decimal places. As he died, there was a very slight, but still measurable decrease in the mass present within the chamber. I'd like to see this done in real life and I'd like to know if it would then be possible that they just measured the spirit of a person..
