Prayer, how to use it and what type of prayer is best...

I have a nearly maxed berserker (soon to be 50 defence with granite) pure. I have spent most of my pking days at edgeville with a dragon scimitar and claws, or a whip and korasi. I am used to putting my attack strength and sometimes defence prayers up at the beginning of a fight.

Now I am moving on to hybriding, and I have two question. First, what type of prayers do you use while hybriding? Right now I have my quick pray set to my melee prayers, and I usually start out with magic prayer on. Eventually I will be casting spells with the strength/attack prayers still on. Sort of a waste, but I cant manage to switch prayers as well as my armour as soon as I get frozen yet. So is the best/most common way to just leave melee prayers on at all times? I am great with armour switches I just need tips on the prayers.

2nd question. I am sitting at 100 combat, 80 Attack 99 Strength 95 Magic. As soon as I am maxed I should still be 101 combat. Since I will be doing mostly hybriding, is turmoil/soulsplit going to make a major difference? I am thinking with only 45/50 defence, with 99 Strength and magic and a chaotic rapier I will be dishing out serious damage, and the lifesteal doesn't seem important. Plus smite drains more prayer while keeping my combat level lower. THe only thing I would be missing out on is turmoil which would also solve my prayer problem. So would I be better off staying 55 Prayer with smite and lower combat level, or should I eventually go for 95 Prayer once I get the cash?

 

about a second before i mage i generally turn on the 15% mage pray, if you forget just try to get the freeze with melee prays on then switch to the mage pray if both of you are frozen

 

If you can't manage to switch prayers then better have melee overhead on quick pray. Always better not to die, eh?

Turmoil is definitely good for bridding, and so is ss. However, if you plan on edge pking too, then you might consider staying 55. (or you could experiment and get 77 for augury).

 

rapier sucks for pking

also, if your going to be over 100 cb, you need curses, as most rune pures max with curses at ~104 cb. thus they will shyt all over you

 

I would get 95 prayer, and rapier is ok for edge pking and EPIC for hybriding
