Chaotic Rapier Vs Zammy Spear at Corp

I just started corping last night so I've been reviewing some vids and stuff, and I noticed there are some people that use Chaotic Rapier instead of Zammy Spear.

Which do you think is more suitable for 4-8 person teams: Rapier or Z Spear?

I am only 77 Dung on my PvM account, but getting 80 would take me no time at all if I ask a friend from 3b0 to key for me if I want Rapier fast.

Spear for sure. It's the same exact speed as a rapier, little less stab bonus, but the thing a spear has on the rapier is defense bonuses. Then again, you could obviously use a shield with a rapier. Personal preference really.

Does the 50% damage penalty apply to Rapier? Wasn't able to find this out on Google I might have to pause corp'ing and get a Rapier so I can test them myself.
