These have been around since early 2000ish. I remember hearing about this in a magazine.

It's not yet 100% perfect anyways.

I doubt it will be any soon when Harry Potter's cloak really happens.

Wasn't there also one that they were making which included some rare minerals that actually bounced light off it?

This will probably never be sold to civilians, meaning us mortals may never get our hands on one :( But there's always the black market :)

If we can get smaller we wouldn't need these cloaks as no one would see us.

Does this actually work or is it a fraud?

I remember seeing an article similar to what you are saying about a year ago (except I think it is bending light, not bouncing it), it included a picture of one of the researchers wearing a jacket made of some material - and you could see through his torso and arms because of it (except it was in a greenish tint)

Doesn't really work. If you put a cylinder there and give it a little dent in the bottom, the cylinder will be pretty obvious

Arrgh, I saw this a while ago, however, I forgot exactly how it worked on an atomic level.

Personally, I'd be a tad scared it were ever invented on a mass production scale. Imagine everyone running around invisible =,=

I thought they were made of a synthetic fibre which caused light to bend around it, making it invisible to the human eye. You could probably see through it, if you used infrared imaging.

People would probably run around naked in them. :D

Yeah I remember reading about this years back, and how they were testing it in a military camp, looks quite cool. Obviously it's not perfected yet >_<

I remember reading about a ghillie suit that was covered with 1px x 1px screens and cameras in between each screen that would project the images captured and reconstructed onto the opposite side of the suit.. kind of like a digital chameleon.
