Varrock armour 3?

Varrock armour 3?

    Varrock armour 3?
    I have heard that the varrock armour 3 from completion of the varrock hard tasks can be equipped with one defence although, it possesses the same statistics as a steel platebody with the added bonus of being lighter. This has led me to wonder if it indeed possesses no defence requirements and could someone also tell me which statistics so possess and which quests to complete in order to complete the hard varrock tasks, thank you.

    In that case is there any torso more effective at defending against melee attacks than iron platebody for someone with one defence?

    Varrock armour 3?
    The khazard body is the only other comparable item. It doesn't have the negative mage and range bonuses, but has some worse defensive stats.
