It means that your RAM consists of 4 different modules: 3 of them are 2 GB RAM and 1 of them is 4 GB RAM, for a total of 10 GB RAM. You have capability to add more for a total of 16 GB of RAM.

I'm not too familiar with AMD processors, but it sounds like it should perform fairly well. Hopefully you can use most (or all) of your RAM with the capabilities of the processor.

The 1.5 TB hard drive is overkill for a botting computer, but if you are going to use it as a normal desktop long-term then I guess it is useful.

All in all not bad, keeping in mind I do not know much about AMD processors, and that is a big part of what you are going to need for a smooth experience.

But the specs are decent, what is the price listed for that? I would assume it is about $1500, give or take a bit.

EDIT: Forgot when giving my price assumption that you have 10GB of RAM...I assume it should cost somewhere between $1200 and $1400.

Eh that price makes me think the processor isn't nearly as good as I would have figured, it must be a hella old processor...A decent processor alone would cost that $700.

You can buy RAM separately and then just add it in yourself, or you can have a shop/person do it for you.

EDIT: Yeah looked it up and that processor cost $300 when it was new, so I don't want to think about what it is now x.X

A computer with an i5 2500k would be about the same price, and considerably more powerful http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/146?vs=288 Plus it could be easily overclocked to 4ghz+

Edit - like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229266
same price but with 8gb ram. Thing is, if you're going to upgrade the 10gb ram to 16gb you're going to need to replace all of the 2gb sticks with 4gb sticks. The one I linked has 2x 4GB, so you'd actually have to buy less ram to get to 16gb.

Also would make sure to get a second-gen i5/i7 just to put icing on the cake.

no trust me the processor and everything is new im just getting an extremely good deal from someone.

and what is the importance of ghz compared to RAM b/c the basic idea i had was RAM affected how many bots could be run and ghz was just a computers speed. and ill be looking at those computers too but idk if i want to pass this deal up.

also any estimate on how many autoherblore bots from rsbots the 10GB version can run, and 16GB?

The one I linked is a better deal. It's a significantly faster CPU and the same GPU for the same amount of money. For $15 more get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231395 and it's the same amount of ram. CPU and ram are both important for running large amounts of bots, but ram is much easier to upgrade, and with a large amount of ram the bottleneck is going to be your CPU.

Your computer will not use all of the RAM you have if you have a shitty processor. You need RAM to not lag to hell/be able to run more things, but you need a good processor for that as well. A lot of computing is hand-in-hand.

Your processor may be 'new', but it is technically over a year old, and even when it was 'brand new' it was only $300...which tells me a lot about its performance.

ya i guess im leaning more towards your choice now, but to add those extra 2 sticks of 4GB, is that process difficult/time consuming for someone who is not very good with computers.

It's literally open the case, undo the clips, pull out the sticks of ram and put the new ones in, close the clips. Then close the case and turn it on.

Just noticed too, the computer you were looking at has 1.5TB 5400rpm SATA hard drive . 5400rpm is pretty slow for a desktop, 7200rpm is standard. I'd much rather have a 1tb 7200rm than 1.5 5400.

Actually, looking at more closely, the one I linked only has 2 ram slots, so if you wanted to upgrade the ram you'd need to buy 8gb modules. Which would make it a bit more expensive to get to 16gb

You should be able to get around 25 bots with 10gb of ram with your processor. Maybe a little over 30 if you had 12 gb of ram. Also if you have on board graphics it may be sufficient enough to run all your bots. I would definitely recommend getting a good cooler. Also your 6 core is overclockable to 4ghz.

Anyways I have many 6 core botting rigs and I easily run 30 rsbuddys.

Any of the top coolers here should work fine http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=574&name=CPU-Fans-Heatsinks. I recommend Thermaltake or Coolermaster, also apply thermal compound onto processors and re-coat it every year or so.

I'd be careful buying from Ibuypower or Cyberpower like before-mentioned, their builds commonly break down and you won't have any luck with their customer service but Newegg will likely refund you so buy it from them.

Sounds like you're getting a decent deal. A 7200 rpm harddrive would be preferable for a desktop though. Also, what PSU is in it? Lastly, graphics cards don't matter at all for botting so you could save money and get one without it.

I just finished my $500 build with parts very similar to this, including a 6 core AMD phenom. Right now I have 6 bots running at 30% CPU usage and taking 4 gb ram.

The Phenom x6 would actually be preferable (and substantially cheaper) in the case of botting, because the cores can better handle the multitude of threads needed by each instance of a bot.

OP, if you'd like me to throw a quick build together for you on newegg or something I wouldn't mind at all. Just let me know.

    What operating system?

Otherwise I'd estimate around 3-6 bots that the computer would be capable of running.
