How to view a custom feed of recent Sythe posts without marketplace spam

tl;dr: Use the Search page, put an asterisk (*) as the search field, and control click any sections you want to follow and don't select any subforums with marketplace autobumpers. Bookmark the feed, for example.

    Pre-amble

Discussion on Sythe is fairly quiet relative to the size of its active userbase. One big reason is that it's hard to find active threads; Real conversations get buried under marketplace autobumps or lost in semi-dead subforums.

Sythe's "Useful Searches" menu includes an option to view Recent Posts, but unfortunately it isn't actually useful; Due to constant marketplace bumping, the feed is essentially full of spam and unusable for finding real, active threads.

A better way to see recent posts in active sections:

    The key trick is this:
    • On the Search page, entering an asterisk (*) returns all results
    • You can then Ctrl + click to select the specific subforums you want included
For example, if you only want to follow Anti-Scam drama, enter * as your search term, select the Anti-Scam subforums, and you'll get this clean feed.

You can then bookmark this feed on your browser to easily check it any time to see only new posts in these sections.

Personally I have this feed bookmarked currently: https://www.sythe.org/search/432958979/?q=*&o=date&c[node]=217+389+794+224+254+818+439+1393+1395+383+424+951+1343+429+428+237+690+506+696+698+697+567+945+231+654+214+226+537+725+484+519+338+744+558+668+669+676+360+685+686+289+548+527+295+554+305+559+782+783+785

This feed includes most of the discussion based subforums: community events, suggestions, runescape discussion, gaming general, off topic, etc. But importantly it does NOT include any forums dominated by autobumpers. So the feed currently has around 20 posts in the past week and is much more digestible.

You can click "Search Again" at the top left to modify the subforums selected & save a different bookmark.

    Post-amble

This probably seems like a bit of a silly or obvious topic, but having a clean feed of actual discussion (without marketplace noise) could make it easier for people to find active conversation on the site. And since the method is a little unintuitive, I figured it was worth sharing.

This is a good guide @CuppaJava. Especially when Sythe could get more users to join just to chat like on Reddit. But currently with the current layout its hard to see any non-market sections as its a bit of a scroll down.

I will add you can subscribe to notifications for each section to get an alert on the site and/or an email any time a new thread is posted if you wanted to be a part of the conversations.
