Regarding the guides lym posted

I dont mean to have this directed at lym but its kind of annyoing that I we have like 10000 guide things in personal support but we removed the guide section i dont get it.

what im trying to say is why remove the guide section to have someone post 10 guides per section... this isnt meant to be mean to lym or target her.

 

Then...

A) Bring back the Guides section.
B) Prohibit guide posting.

I'm all for A.

The personal support section doesn't need any guides, just people with knowledge and kindness to answer peoples questions that are in distress. Just not allow guides at all in that area of the forum, people get cocky that's all we need is a couple DR Phil's posting guides on inner peace every time they get an epiphany.

 

The guides are helpful and if people aren't using them, then they'd simply die because of inactivity. However, to just dismiss them is stupid seeing as how they are helpful. Also, Personal Support is hardly just about making a topic but answering questions. And if a guide can do the job of that, who cares?

 

What I'm saying is that anyone can make a guide, It's good and they're helpful but what are the limitations? What if ten or fifteen people start making a guide a day just to increase their post count then peoples threads with questions will be thrown back and never answered.

 

Yeah it might have been a attempt to get more posts but some of the guides might help someone.

 

Yes they will, but who will be the person to tell someone not to make a guide because someone else like "Lym" already makes guides and that theirs aren't needed? Will there be official guide makers? Will there be official guide verification? This whole thing just seems easier to ban guides all together within the area.

I might be getting a little ahead of myself here but it's always best to be ahead then be behind where as in a maybe in a few months they're complaints about this again and again and again.

 

If multiple guides on the same subject appear, the best will stay & the rest will die.

If I were you, I wouldn't moan about post count, seeing as half of yours comes from this thread, which you haven't even made.

The guide's Lym posted are helpful. If they weren't they'd just get locked by a moderator.

Multiple guides for the same subject as Mill3n pointed out, will result in the popular ones staying, and the less popular ones dieing.

This belongs in suggestions forum, but as oxodium said, if the guides weren't needed, a mod would have locked them. There's no harm in her making the threads.

 

I asked Finn personally if the guides were allowed there, and he said that they were. I don't see a problem with it right now; there's no need to bring back the guide section/prohibit guides in PS.

 

There's barely any guides in the Personal Support section, at least, not many I know off. Lym's guides are fine, and I'm sure they could help SOME people.

 

They aren't harming anyone, and now that the guide section is gone there's no other place to put them so why would we take them out?

 

Even though OP is banned, just wanted to say.

Why would I want to farm post count, I don't give a shit about post count. It doesn't even give you any benefit.

The guides are for people who need them, if you're complaining about help guides which are 100% free and does nothing negative, you're the one trying to raise your post count.
I love the sythe community and I enjoy finding ways to help the members, and this is the only way so far.
