    I don't get it.

Everytime I'm on facebook, you get people you know posting stupid status like "Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living". What's the point?
People don't talk like this in person, why would you post something like that?

And people do this hoping that they would get people to "like" it.
Are they really that desperate for attention?

Got baked and realized just how much of stuff like that was happening, and just had to say somethin.

How many of you guys see all the stupid shit posted on facebook?

After high school most of these "deep" chicks will probally stop copy and pasting philosophical quotes and lyrics when the majority of their "friends" realise they can't socially benefit them. Nerdy answer but basically they love attention and people will feed them attention as long as they are considered popular.

I went to Facebook to see what my "friends" had to say, in order here they are...

    "Ty kid haters."

"for once, dont flip off the camera...? :)"

    "baby
    come home"

"im bored so.... truth is! :D"

"My Boyfriend Kinda Sucks Right Now.. ):"

    ":((((((((((("

    "This sucks. 4chan isn't loading ;o;"

    "why are guys so bipolar?!?!"

"i got the swag and it's pumping out my ovaries."

"how can i do this to myself." (asks question then doesn't answer when people respond asking what she is talking about)

Just like me asking why you like Mac Miller. I don't get it? All rappers and singers nowdays are shit and serve no meaning. But, what's the point? They like it and think it makes a difference.

True, so why don't we go back to songs like 'Imagine' by John Lennon?
Isn't that a song that changes the world a bit, and a song which everyone still listens?

And yes, Facebook is full of statusses which are just wrong or whatever. But well, since nobody's got something to do these days all escape to the internet where they supposably have a lot of friends of which they want to share this 'cool and deep' status with.

Although, I see them as attention whores, I also thank them in a way as some of the quotes, I've never ever seen nor read. Some of them get me thinking so it's great I guess but too many does get annoying. Anyways, whats there to say for some people?

I have a theory people post lyrics to a song, or meaningful quotes like this, to express an emotion they feel because they are attracted to a certain someone. When they saw the quote, it reminded them of the person they love, so they posted it because it seemed like the right thing to do. It's simply to express emotion over the internet in their own way, hoping the person they like sees and understands it.

This is just a theory of mine though, it could be completely wrong.

Posting quotes as a status isn't always a call for attention, you know. Generalizing people that do this and categorizing them all as 'whores' and such is ridiculous.

I post lyrics and shit like that.
A lot of the stuff people post is because that's how they feel at the time.
When I post quotes/lyrics I don't give a fuck who likes it. It's how I feel, it's whats on MY mind.

    This.

Posting a quote or lyric from a song doesn't mean your an attention seeker. It simply shows your friends what type of mood you are in.

well to be honest, I see posts like ' I really need the toilet' ... ' I'm horny'...
    'I need something to eat'
Some of the quotes are pretty awful too, and then you get the people that like every status. It's just rather annoying.

I think it's ridiculous some people need to update every little thing they do with their life, honestly I wouldn't be suprised if some people live for facebook.

I see it as a good thing, someone is bound to adhere to the advice or meaning of that quote, providing it's a positive quote.

I'm in favour of encouraging man to reflect or "think".

I forgot to mention , there's always the depressed guy. Who updates how terrible his life has been.

I complain a lot too, just not on a status for 500 odd people to see.
