Who is your favorite political philosopher? I personally like either Aristotle because of his extensive writings on the virtues necessary for a proper society or Locke/Jefferson because their unparalleled ideas on freedom paved the way for modern democracies.

Definitely Locke due to his ideals which heavily influenced modern day freedoms.

I was going to put Kant, Spinoza, and Socrates on here, but I assumed there wouldn't be that many people who knew their work. I agree that Kant was a great philosopher. However, his view that constant peace can be attained is, in my view, idealistic.

Wiremu Tamihana. A very influential figure for the Maori people in the early stages of New Zealand history.

Never heard of him. I'll do some reading. Did he write any books?

A tie between Plato and Friedrich Nietzsche.

Plato has better philosophical views on life and how one should live morally, but Friedrich Nietzsche has great views on how corrupt religion is, and has some very interesting views on morality and social concepts such as nationality and ethnicity.

Plato, to me, is more inspirational then Friedrich, who has more serious views on religion and morality.
