Ghosts: Do they exist?

Simple as the title reads: do you believe ghosts exist? I've watched a few ghost shows on TV and they are all stupid. They never show any solid evidence ghosts exist or not. I personally have never believed they existed.

So let's have an intelligent discussion, do they exist? Give personal experiences for evidence if you do believe so.

 

I think it's kinda hard to prove they exist, at least if you're trying to argue it intelligently. The way I see it, the only way I could be 100% convinced of the existence of ghosts is if I had some sort of paranormal experience. There have been times when I do feel 'spooked' or I get that eerie feeling that there's a presence in the room but, without hard evidence, I just can't convince myself that they exist. I don't really like counting TV shows or Internet videos as proof.

(Sorry if it kinda sounds like I'm contradicting myself )

 

I can see where you're coming from. Our minds are wired to see shadows in the dark and feel/hear things to stimulate fear, regardless of what actually is happening. Because of this it is hard to gauge whether you have had a paranormal experience or not.

 

Yeah, never seen any evidence they exist. TV shows claim to show "proof," but don't really make any case at all. And why would you think they exist, unless you have solid evidence? Unexplained things, sure, but using that as proof for ghosts, l I don't think so.

 

Recently, me and a group of friends went to a "haunted cemetery" where some odd things did happen. Mind you this cemetery is in the middle of the woods, about a mile from any houses. The only odd thing that happened to me was I heard a for sure human foot step, but everyone was sitting down when it happened. It was not an animal I'm 100% sure.

About 20 minutes later my 2 friends freak out as they "see a flying green orb." Around that same time, my friend catches a picture of this giant white orb the size of a human face. Idk what it is but I guess this may have made my oppinion change. Not saying they exist or that my story is evidence to ghosts existing as I have no idea, but that's my experience.

 

Think you could ask you friend for the picture? I'm pretty interested in seeing it

 

No one has real evidence they exsist. I've heard lots of rumors, stories, seen pictures, visited places and to be honest it's a load of crap.

The only proof atm of the existence of ghosts is a correlation.

A correlation between EMF spikes and attempting to illicit paranormal activity in certain areas. Such tests are inconclusive at best.

Ghosts may very well exist, it's not hard to formulate a reasonable way for them to exist, however, we as humans via science have never witnessed any convincing evidence for the existence of ghosts. As such, no, they don't exist, however, I personally think that they're is a reasonable chance for them to exist, though, not as TV depicts them.

I believe and have had experiences. I have no solid proof, just EVP recordings and some pictures.

 

all set up just for movies and tv shows
all the photos you see are easy to photoshop and i could make 20 "ghost" pictures in an hour.
but i do like watching ghost movies, they are my favorite type of horrors

I do not believe they exist, due the the lack of ANY experience / proof.

 

EVP spikes and other recordings are affected by so many other variables its ridiculous to call those evidence.

Strange things happen, just because we can't explain it doesn't mean it's paranormal, I mean one night with some friends a thunderstorm erupted directly above my house (there was no pause between lightning and thunder it was instantaneous) and a decent sized red orb appeared in the sky outsdide my window for a second or two. Now do I give this paranormal meaning? Ofcourse not, I don't know what caused it but I can guess it had something to do with the thunderstorm.

 

Yup, it's called "ball lightning." It's really rare but it does happen. Or you could have seen a telephone pole transformer explode who knows.

I would agree that the tests are inconclusive. All that happens is they flip through frequencies at high speeds. Stuff that's picked up is static and stray radio frequencies. If ghosts were talking, I doubt they'd be speaking in such a way for a machine like this to pick it up. They would have to be speaking in multiple frequencies per second, and this bumps heads with the theory people can talk to them without these machines.

 

I doubt they do, simply because - how would a consciousness even exist as a ghost? ie. how would they even think?

 

In order for a person to hold the slightest belief ghost exist, there has to be the possibility for an afterlife. Anyone who doesn't believe in an afterlife, but believes in ghosts, are luney tunes. I personally do believe in an afterlife, but do not believe they can interact with human beings in such a way we can see them. Only in ways we cannot. They are spirits if anything, having the same complexion as humans do, but exist in an entirely different world, which is why we cannot see them.

 

I do not believe that they exist and I believe in afterlife (Heaven/Hell).
I believe that Devil sometimes can try to scary people, but not the ghosts.

 

I didn't provide it simply because people like you would dismiss it anyway. I know what I saw and experienced, so why does it matter?
