[5m Reward] Help me pick out an eBay username!

As the topic states, I need help choosing an eBay name.

Recently a large fortune of antiques fell into my hands when a close family friend of mine moved houses and handed their collection to my mother. My mom knowing absolutely nothing about online sales has asked me to take it upon myself to sell these said items for her. Her plans are to donate 50% of the proceeds to the Boy Scouts of America (Brother and I are both Eagle Scouts) and she said I could keep the other 50% for myself since I'll soon be paying for a TON of expenses in the coming year...

So with that being said, how should I pick out my eBay name? Below is a list of alias's I've used on the interwebz

-Davidasaurus (I think this is quite immature and may seem unprofessional and drive away customers)
-N3xt (leetspeak probably wouldn't go to well on eBay)
-Snow Patrol (I've only really had this alias on Sythe, but I don't think I want to affiliate myself to the band via eBay)

Should I just simply make my eBay name my first name + last name? Like JohnDoe or Johndoe for example. I've never used eBay before so I wouldn't know.

Also, since a lot of these antiques are rare chinese porcelains/statuettes/ceramics, I was thinking something along the lines of ChineseAntiques or something like that...the problem with this is that I'd also like to sell of Yu-Gi-Oh/Pokemon Card collection from like 5 years ago and an eBay username like ChineseAntiques would be seemingly stupid. I also have some electronics I'd like to sell like a PSP/iPod N4n0 (see what i did there) etc etc.

Am I overthinking this? >_<

Just sell them under your legitimate name. Also the Pokemon and Yugioh cards sadly don't go for much on eBay better off finding like a wizards of the coast store or something. Gl

Umm, I like Imagine, so don't copy me. I'd say something abstract, maybe one of Snow patrol's songs (Like chasing cars?) or your favorite one.

 

DavidsAntiques would sound pretty good and make sense I believe.

Most people go by reputation and vouches on ebay not the name so I think you're over thinking this just a little bit, but you can't go wrong with something similar to my sythe name. You don't want too much information out there unless you're dealing with a buyer and it is needed. Make sure you remind the buyers to leave feedback after each trade! Don't pick anything too cheesy and make it look professional.
Also don't put "Antique" in your name unless you're only gonna be selling antiques on there.

I think using your name as a ebay username is a great idea.

Well turns out I actually do have an eBay account registered to my main email...it's my name with a 1 at the end in all lowercase letters, made when I bought a chip that was supposed to unlock my iPhone 3G 2 years ago haha

my eBay name looks like this (We'll say my last name is Sythe):

davidsythe1

lame, I know, I do have backup emails that I can create another eBay account on though, I might just do that.

 

A username doesn't really matter. I'd just stick with davidsythe1

 

Honestly gotta say, this is over-thinking it a bit :embar:
I don't know how much experience you've had with eBay but, speaking from my own personal experience (and I've sold/bought tons of stuff on there), no one on that site really pays any attention to what your name is, it's literally of zero importance to them (unless it's blatantly offensive)

Though out of the names you listed, Snow Patrol sounds the best to me, it's pretty simple and sounds cool

It seems very professional and you're not really "confined" to selling one type of product so to speak.

I'd go with your first name and maybe some numbers which represent you, however not your date of birth.

Otherwise as previously stated, you are focusing on this too much as a username on there barely means anything.
