    Help me pick powerful laptop.

Basically, I'm looking to buy a new laptop within the next month. I have done some research and found a few that I like, but I have not been able to settle on any specific one since the possibilities are endless and I will most likely need to customize it to suit my needs.

    Here are the criteria:

Budget of approximately $2000-$2500USD(give or take)

Quad core, i7 processor. (preferably second gen, and preferably either a 2720QM, 2820QM, or 2920QM, but I would be willing to take a step back if there's room for a more powerful GPU. I'm also open to using a desktop processor if the laptop supports it and it isn't too far over budget. Overheating isn't a direct issue as I will also be purchasing a cooling pad.)

6gb+ ddr3, (preferably 1333mhz+, the higher the better)

Dedicated GPU, (It MUST score at least 1000 on the PassMark list, found HERE)

At least 200GB Hard Drive (any more is unnecessary as I will be purchasing a large external drive for all of my files. Keep it small to keep the cost down. preferably at least 7200rpm.)

1080p HD display (absolutely mandatory, at least 15")

Built-in wireless (also absolutely mandatory. best possible for the longest range and best signal. I will be using this for gaming online so minimal lag is desired.)

Basically, find me a beast. I will be using this laptop for online gaming, video editing, CAD, and Solidworks while I am away at school. I need and want the most powerful and reliable laptop I can get for my budget. I am open to any suggestions and if there is anything you are unsure about, feel free to ask me.

    Thank you for your help.

I like it. It should perform up to my expectations, but I would still like a slightly faster processor since it's still under my budget. And I have been looking up my own shit, I just wanted some outside opinions. And thanks for yours, I appreciate it.

don't usually suggest alienware but, switch the processor to the second i7, ram to 1333 8gig, and to SLI 460ms and it's $2.4k, plus you can get a free xbox if you're a student or some shit(read pn there site somewhere)
    fuck that lappie.

I was already looking at those =\ I feel like they're over priced, but they seem like the only laptops that come with the parts I want.

The laptops are no where near as bad as the desktops.
tbh though I'd go with the 17" with a 6970m 8gig ram, 1080p screen and the top processor that'd be like $2.2k or something

    Help me pick powerful laptop.

My knowledge isn't great on computer specs etc, but if by powerful you mean like, good to run high graphic based games on, alienware are a very popular brand of laptop specefically designed for gaming, dell own alienware and they're supposed to be quite good.

Sorry if i have told you everything you already know, but like i said my knowledge isn't great with this :)

If you want a juicy CPU, you could try one of the intel i7 hexacore processors. I'm not sure which models they are though :/
