    Hey,

    Just to clear this up properly the buyer was 100% aware that this account was a resale and that no warranty could be offered on it. I made that clear before the purchase inside the ticket (see attached screenshot).

    The buyer even responded after that statement, asking a follow up about security steps showing full understanding and acceptance before buying.

    On top of that, my Sythe account sale thread clearly lists my Terms of Service, which state:

    “I will be responsible for this account for the first month. After that I hold no responsibility.”

    This matches Sythe’s own rule that sellers must specify their recovery responsibility and I did exactly that. So the “default 2 year recovery” rule doesn’t apply here.

    I’ve sold plenty of accounts under the same ToS without issues, and everything has always been transparent with buyers.

    Appreciate your time reviewing this just wanted to make sure the situation is seen clearly with the full context.

    I'd like to add whilst it was lightly passed in about no warranty, you did make it clear it was a resale account, and each time I messaged you to try gain any information on it the recovery or issues, you just said "ill message Machine", instead of proactively trying to resolve a customers issue.

    so one month and 2 days later the account is recovered off a Jagex Launcher, which when you messaged me at 6am this morning to ask me why I made a report. I explained that the only way this could of happen is by the OO or someone with full recovery details, submitted a recovery for the account.

    I would like to clarify, that asking for additional security features was a sign of me being extremely nervous with this sum of money and a casual comment you passed which is the reason I struggle to trust sellers on this market for this exact reason.

    I would like to add another detail before a Sythe staff member comments.

    On Menos listing with the account on Sythe, it does state "I am not responsible for any resold account!" which doesn't match his discord TOS and the ones I agreed to when joining discord. (I was under the idea that TOS were the same everywhere)
    and according to the stickies stating this, it says that sellers must ask the customer to agree to the TOS prior.

    I believe this last comment is a "protection" attempt in the chance that a scam/recovery does happen, 1 month a 2/3 days after the account was sold.

    I get how you may think this is to good to be true... But i simply can not recover any account i don't have any information off other then login, email and password. This can be confirmed by osrs machines as that information was not provided to me before, during or after the account purchase. Making your assumption of me recovering the account impossible. (to the staff you can check my entire chats with osrs machines to confirm said given account information was not given to me.)

    There isn't a single bit of this that isn't sketchy in my opinion.

    ToS not linking, account goes missing whilst the second month of membership is still pending on my PayPal.

    No actual attempt to help me recover the account.

    I'll await staff opinion on the mater but I ask what they would do in this situation?

    The account cannot under any circumstances be moved off a launcher without recovery. 3 days after a minimum warranty could even apply.

    Once an account has been moved to a Jagex account, it CANNOT go back to legacy, therefore someone recovered the account and it was put on another launcher? what do you not understand Meno?

    I'd like to add, I made another post asking this and someone confirmed you can't just move OSRS accounts from different launchers.

    @Meno, The terms of service listed on the account sale thread would not be valid unless it was agreed to by your customer in writing;

    This agreement is also not valid as sellers need to maintain a minimum recovery responsibility period of 1 month. If the recovery responsibility offered is less than the minimum standard, it will automatically default to two years.

    In conclusion, if you cannot recover the account you will need to provide @Evobrew with a refund.

    As account reports are linear and only go back one step of a trade to the seller, you will need to resolve this report and you are free to review your purchase of the account separately to decide if you want to follow up with your own report.

    I've spoke with @Meno on discord and he has informed me that he will follow through with the recovery request with the user he purchased the account from, but in the event it is unsuccessful he is not willing to provide a refund. A precautionary DNT has been issued for now.

    I hope he follows through with the recovery, whilst I understand he is not willing to provide a full refund. I would accept a partial refund if Meno would settle for that.

    I'll hold my doubts on that and I'll remain active on Sythe over the next few days whilst we await an update.

    Since this whole issue started, I’ve been in contact with OSRS Machines trying to help get the account recovered for you. My hands are tied at this point there’s genuinely nothing more I can do on my end.

    I’m sorry, but I’m not paying anything out when I’ve already lost money myself and have been completely transparent about the account from the start. I made it clear before the sale that I’m not the original owner, and you understood and agreed to that.

    I genuinely hate that you’ve had this issue I’ve sold many accounts before and always cared about my customers but this situation is out of my control. Unfortunately, Sythe’s system gives sellers very little protection, and it’s frustrating that even when both parties have a clear agreement, it can still be overruled.

    Hopefully Machines can still recover the account for you.

    To the staff team I respect whatever decision you make; you’re just doing your job. But honestly, I’m disappointed in what Sythe has turned into lately.

    I will not continue to argue on this forum with you as I have been attempting to avoid Sythe for nearly a week but your sketchy handling and minimal assistance.

    Thank you for reaching out to Machines and hope he does pull through, as you are taking a very light hit in my opinion, I have lost an account, nearly £400 and all the GP/items on the account are gone.
