What Im proposing: Making a rule against selling any Minecraft account that cannot be proven to be your own.

How this will be done: You must have access to the email you signed up with + be able to change the password.

Why I think this should be implemented: Too many MC account sale threads are people selling bulk MC accounts that they have hacked/cracked/phished or bought cheaply from people that have done that.

I have personally gotten a few people banned for this.

I have no suggestions for Gift Codes, though please post here if you have any Ideas. THANKS!

Edit: gift codes it should be the same thing as selling 'pins' on the runescape section- it is not allowed. The only thing allowed is the selling of 'upgrades'

Just because they're selling bulk accounts doesn't mean that they're phished/hacked/cracked.

 

Then Please provide any kind of way that you can buy accounts for alot cheaper than the price on the actual website which doesnt include camping in some kind of market buying accounts from people no longer playing the game, because i doubt anyone would do that just to sell them for $5.

Just ask the person if they have the email login and password that is attached to the Minecraft account. If they don't then they're probably phished/cracked/hacked.

I don't buy or sell minecraft accounts so I wouldn't know.

Well with Minecraft gift codes I could be mistake but I am pretty sure when you purchase one they send you a thank you and a receipt for your purchase with the account name in it. So for proof of ownership why not have the person be required to prove through this that they legitimately purchased the gift code?

There's many ways to legitimately get the codes or people wouldn't be selling them for $5 each.

 

Except they would. The only "legit" way to get the codes is to buy it off of minecraft.net - for FULL price. Therefore, any code sales under that are NOT making money.

Support. Do not allowed those gift codes (unless there is some kind of way to obtain them legally for a cheaper price...). Also, do not allow minecraft account sales unless you have the attached email.

 

Or, they're phished.. like most minecraft sales are..

 

Support - would stop help to reduce the amount of phished MC circulating around sythe.

 

Thanks Karl, you seem to be aware of this problem. I've found almost 90% of the MC accounts being sold on Sythe and other forums are CRACKED. It's not hard to do, and for these people its profitable. Sythe needs to "crack" (ahahahaha punny) down on these.

Support, it only makes sense that you should only be able to sell something if you own it.

If you do own it and you want to sell it you should have no problem about proving it.

 

Thanks Toast - This is EXACTLY the point. Doing this would prevent these illegally obtained accounts from spreading around sythe.

 

Support this, but morals are not exactly commonly found on Sythe. Is this not the same concept as selling pins obtained from p1nlines (RuneScape).

Also, alot of people use trojans or keyloggers instead of phishing the accounts. If that is the case, people selling mass MC accounts would 90% of the time have access to their email adresses and passwords too don't you think?

But I see what you mean along the lines that it would, if anything, remove a chunk of the illegitimate MC trades going on on this website.
