    Strange behaviour.

Over the past year or two I have developed strange behavioural traits.

They are very difficult to explain but I will try my best. For example :

On some random days I decide that when I am walking to my destination, if I step any more than four or sixteen times I have to walk back and start again.

On most days I decide I need to constantly bend over to make the door handle appear slightly higher than a manufactured indent in the door on both sides four times.

I also have OCD with washing my hands and sweating problems, if I am playing on my computer and need to do something such as picking up clothes or even just get up, I feel compelled to wash my hands again with a lot of soap (four squirts)

I sweat randomly, and sometimes my hands become abnormally dry.

I imagine horrible situations against my will and cannot get them out of my head for a few minutes.

Could anyone recommend what I should do about this? It isn't affecting my life detrimentally but it is very uncomfortable sometimes and I want this to stop.

The first two things to me sound like severe OCD rituals. I imagine you're already on some medication for it, so maybe talk to a psychiatrist, and see if there's something else you could be doing about it?

As for the last two, I would highly advise talking to a professional, because it sounds like a mild case of paranoid schizophrenia. It could just be you freaking yourself out, but if it is the former, it's very treatable, and all it would take is a medical evaluation.

I'm on no medication and I forgot to mention this only happens when I am alone, I never even think of these things when I am around family/with other people.

Thank you for your reply though. I do not hear voices but I just imagine things that I don't want to imagine.

I also have OCD all of these are common with us who have bad/mild cases of OCD. That also includes the last one, I often have dreadful thoughts (house burning down when I'm not home, robbers breaking in, parents dieing when I'm away from them, makes me panic, sweat, etc.) I've taken medication before, and it never really seemed to help me at all, therapy is nice though, they have psychologists who specialize in OCD behavior, mine did, and I've made good progress. Goodluck!

Even the fact that you note how many times you squirt the bottle of soap into your hands shows me huge signs of severe OCD. I think that you need to seek help as soon as possible before it gets worse otherwise tbh I have seen people like this that live a nightmare life. There is steps you must take to get over this otherwise your barriers will just get worse. Talk to your doctor and let them know what is going on and the fact that it's getting worse. The longer you let this go on the harder it will be to break. I am more then sure they can lead you in the proper direction to be able to cope with this.
