Working Papers

Need help ASAP.

I'm from Canada, moved to New York 2 years ago. About to get my first job, but I need to bring in working papers.

I have a card that says "Employment Authorization Card - This person identified is authorized to work in the U.S. for the validity of this card." .. Is that a working paper?

I have no idea how to get them, or what they are.

 

I assume they just want something that shows that you can legally work in the country.

I moved to Australia almost 2 years ago and that is what I had to give when I started working - proof that I can legally work here.

Another thing that may help is if you have any documentation from the visa you are on that talks about you legally being able to work as well. They may request that, although I can't imagine them wanting it since you have a fancy card.

 

Tbh, you'd probably get more definitive help by just calling whichever department oversee's immigration.

 

If you don't mind me asking, are you a minor?
and the documentation you have now, is it a blue card, a white paper, etc?
