Question about making a website [ potentially illegal]

ok so I am thinking about building a website as I have a lot of free time as of late it will be for all coding\hacking etc. anything computer related really.

I was just wondering how far can I push this without having legal issues due to the nature of my website [ the hacking and other unfavorable aspects of the internet]

Is there a way I can just put a disclosure agreement everyone that comes to the site has to accept before they can enter or what. I have helped run many websites in the past but I never dealt with this end of the spectrum so please any and all info is greatly appreciated.

You will start running into legal problems when someone ends up getting hacked and the trail leads back to your website. For example if someone who uses your website to help them hack, and they get caught, then people will start targeting your website.

Question about making a website [ potentially illegal]

What if I put something on the main page of the site that says along the lines that everything on this site is strictly for education purposes as it mainly will be I obviously don't plan on allowing people to openly hack each other on my website lol. I know this use to [don't know if it still does] use to work for rs private servers and bots etc.

Question about making a website [ potentially illegal]

It's not a good idea to explicitly condone hacking at all. If it's the intention of the webpage, then it will instantly become an illicit page and could possibly be dropped by most major hosting companies if it's reported. Usually, no legal actions will be taken beyond the company suspending your license, but if your users begin to terrorize the wrong people, you may find yourself in more trouble than you'd care to be.

Also, if you attract the hacking niche, you're bound to get a few trolls-- for lack of a better term-- who enjoy hacking just to piss people off. They hack someone, and your site becomes the target for retaliation. Your site will be attacked regularly, and if they don't manage to bring you down as often as they try, you still might be suspended by your host.

Now, say your site does take off, people are behaving, everyone is getting along and you've got a lot of skilled members filling your forums (if you wanted forums). Try banning someone. Try enforcing a gray-area rule such as flaming or spamming. Every time you make a decision to punish someone on an unclear basis (which happens quite a lot as I'm sure you're aware), you can bet they're going to retaliate against you, and they will most likely have the skills to at least inconvenience you since they're part of your hacking community.

    Those are just my thoughts

Thank you for your insight, I actually don't mind the whole retaliation though I hope the majority of my "crew" if you will do not cause problems. I am planning on hosting it myself so I won't need to worry about that. Basically the only thing I am worried about is the possibility of having to pay out money to anyone due to what people on my site may do, or having my government give me any hassle or shut me down for illegal actions that people from my site do because of the nature of my website.

You're fine as far as that goes, the worst that ever happens is a suspended license for a day or two until you're able to submit a ticket to your host. Unless your crew tries to hack into the FBI or CIA or into large companies like microsoft or google, no one will try to sue you. It'd cost them more money than they'd win in court haha

Yea, you could be an accomplice if someone used your website to hack or something.
